's when i met the president of the united states at his house aot we into his car to go fishing.

now, i've been fishing the potomac for years. usually it's just m wifend me or more often i go alone in my truck, but when you go with the president, you do not go alone. nor do you go in a truck. if you'll look real closely, you'll see that's me right there in the president's car right next to him. u'll notice there's no traffic. true, it was 6:30 on a saturday morning, but when the president goes fishing, he doesn't do traffic. we put in near boling air force base. i'm not going to tell you where we fished. not for presidential security, but for my own securifi. there' there. i want to go back there. i will tell you that. see that guy with the black shirt and his hat on backwards? that's and that bass, i got him on a green spring lizard. we fished several spots on the river. two things must be noted.

on i president bush one heck of a fisherman. he knows what he's doing and foest with passion and a great deal o patience. i got the first fish. the president got the biggest. the other thing. u don't see much of us actually fishing because the press pool boat couldn't get close enough. i was supposed to take pictures, but quite frankly i never shot a frame, because when one is fishing with the president, one is not inclined taking pictures when there's fisho be caught, and there were fish to be caught, and we caught them. i quite frankly, the time life. the president said he had a gooo time and i think he meant it. one final observation. as a journalist i'm supposed to be dunimpres with pomp and e circumstance aecially position. usually i am not impressed. blew itday i the fact of this plumber's sona having bst with the
