was picked up at rockville high school and didn't gil off u baltimore that evening. it appears to be a mistake by the bus driver. the driver was a sub and may not have been familiar with the child's stop. while in ribaltimore, ther discovered the extra child. the student has oughtism andbeay nonverbal. we're told the child did not get off the bus in baltimore and did make it safely home. a former american university guiltye student pleaded in federal court admitting she had been acting as a foreign agent for russia.a ma butina tried to influence american politicshe through national rifle association. chris gordon joins us live from the the federal courthouse downtown with details. chri >> well, by pleading guilty in federal court, mia butina faces the possibility of a five-year prison sentence.

after that, she could be deported back to russia. 30-year-old maria butina pleaded guilty. she admits she acted as an gi unered foreign agent. she operated in plain sight. she was a graduate student at american university. she lived at mclean gardens and participated in yoga and other activities in northwest washington. now she is held in solitary confinement at the alexandria detention center. the judge said butina made a phone call from jail to a re rter. the judge appointed federal public defender aj claimer toea with butina and help determine if she was coercedney an into making a guilty plea. >> what i said to the judge ws she satisfied with her awyers and made the decision voluntarily. >> in court, the prosecutor read

the statentssaying, she predicted political candidate number one would win election as president of the united states. she set up a unofficial channel of communication. prosecutors say butin aing with an american boyfriend, a russian handler and financed by a russian oligarch, built tie with the national rifle association and influential republicans. now she's agreeing to cooperate with prosecutors in this at investn. now, butina will be brought back to court in february but she will not be sentenced at that time. no sentencing date has been set becauseerosecutors want m time to see how much information she gives to investigators before they decide the sentence they will recommend the judge impose in this case. that's the latest from the courthouse in d.c.
