they will release him in hopes of finding at least two men connected to the shooting. back to you. >> justin, thank you. >> nearly a dozen bomb threats in our area are believed to be part of a nationwide hoax. one of the threats was the university of maryland yesterday along with schools, government businesses and ildings have been targeted from coast-to-coast. most locations receive an e-mail claiming the bomb was planted in the building. the only way to prevent an explosion was to pay a ransom in bitcoin. locations in d.c. and montgomery county were evacuated. we spoke to woman standingers directly effected. >> we heard a fire alarm go off il the ng. we heard it was an emergency. everybody in the building started walking outside. after that weeard itas a bomb threat. >> the response to the threat tied up first responders and snarled traffic.

>> it's 5:03. a mother put her safety on the line to save her baby in northern virginia. she was pushing a stroller across an intersection when a dump truck hitur hereg the morning rush. this happenedni yesterday mor just before 9:30ish. police say it was because of the mother that the baby was unharmed. she was able to move the stroller away from the cross. >>as she conscious. she was able to talk and miraculously the baby can see fine. >> the mother was taken to the injuries.ith serious she is expected to be okay. the driver of the truck remains on the scene. it's not clear if any charges will be led. >> new this morning, providence hospital in northeast d.c. close several departments today. basically any department that does not support themergency ca center will be closed.

reported being shocked at mgm national harbor. last week an employee reported feeling a static electri shock when he pushed a button on the elevator. the elevator w shutdown and no issues were found. on wednesday night the same employee rorted feeling static shock while moving a food warmer. he was taken to the hospital and has been released. this comes six months after oung girl felt a shock when she touched anoutdoor hand rail at mgm national harbor. her family filed a lawsuit against the resort. >> we have an update on the france christmas market attack. the man killed in a shoot out with police has been identified as the main suspect in the attack. three people were killed and 13 people were hurt in the rampage. police have been searching for him since tuesday ght's attack. tisis claimed suspect as one of its own but there's no indication that the group directedhim. >> a serialad killer p

guilty to another murder. he entered a guilty plea for strangli a womann 1994. he received an additional life sentence. he was already serving out his evious life sentences for t stranglingee women in the los angeles area in e late 80s. he's admitted to dozens of other murders across the country over a 40 year span that includes one case in maryland in 1972. a hunter found a woman's remains in a once wooded area o 197 and the dw parkway. he will have confessed to eelling 90 people at this point. authorities haveable to tie him to 36 cases. >> now a 30-year-old woman accused of being russian agent pled guilty to conspiracy. she mains in jail without bond. she is expected back in court in february for sentencing. she faces up to 5 years in prison andpo ation. yesterday, the former american university grad student pled guilty in federal court here in

ight now neighbors are describing what they heard yesterday and saw as well. a very daunting scene they thsa. heard shot after shot being fired. one neighbor saying she heard as many as 16 shots and d.c. police now say a they appear to be aimed at one person. boy.15-year-old now they want to know why. their responding investigation swamped the 2,900 block in southeast yesterday. this is just a few blocks north of garfield elementary school. early signs are at least two masked men were following this teenn foot, chasing him and also t firingse shots as well close to 3:30 thursday afternoon. th teen was later ctre torhedne whe more shots were fired. he eventually was rushed to the hospital where he died he was shot several times. police do belie a nearby crime camera may have caught some of that video and they tell us those neighbors weren't the only

the president slammed michael cohen ats rep that he ordered him to make hush money payments. those payments allegedly made to two women,ho both of claimed they had affairs with donald trump. now nbc ns confirmed that president trump was in the room when cow hhen and the plisher o the national enquirer discussed e payments. >> his inauguration committee is under criminal vestigation. tracie potts is on capitol hill for us this morning. let's start with michael cohen. what does this nowor mean the president? >> well, in terms of michael cohen, the issue here is that there were three people, according to court do rments, in thm when one of those hush money w paymen discussed. michael cohen that says it was e illegal becauhey were trying to influence the election, and
