the metro rl and amtrak station had a heavy police presence overnight and we're working to learn what happened there. >> the station opened over an hourgo as it normally would. justin, what have you learned? >>aaron, good morning. just hearing now from an amtrak spokesperson that a man was found dead in ael stai here at the new carrolton metro station hereghover unclear at this time who found him, but he was found dead i th stairwell and that's what triggered that large police response here that we saw overnight and at last check that stairwell is sllclosed. if you know this metro station we can tell you it's the gate a stairwell her connecting the station to the amtrak wing here. we saw close up on that scene some blood spatter on the ground as well as fabric caught in the base of that escalator, perhaps ripped out or cut out and you can see it's a heavy fabric like

a denim or something as well. we now know that a man was found grad overnight. above nd, that very heavy police response, including p amtrice including as well prince george's county police officers as well as their crime scene investigation t suggesting they had a very intense investigation hove night trying to peace together the events here in tha. stairw back out live, we are asking for questions trying to worwhut her or not there was something that lead to that man being found in that stairwell. perhaps some kind of medical event or otherwise. still not clears at t time but we can tell you that several cameras are nearby and likely caught what happened on those cameras. more updates as we get them. i'mustin finch news 4. >> we're following another developing story as well from chicago. two police officers were hit and

activityy,ith de left lane is closed. and virginia state authorities on scene. white's ferry is closed again this morning due to the high water on the potomac. about a half hour trbehind. 409 will also be a bit delayed because of late arriving equipment. back into you. >> jack, thank you. it is 32 we are staying on top of breaking news out of prince george's county. a spokesperson for amtrak confirms to news 4 that a man was found dead in a new carrolton station overnight. they say he was found ithe escalator that connects the station to amtrak. right now, there are several surveillance cameras that caught what happened and they're trying to get more details about the situation. we also have a new update in a risis effecting the catholi church. >> we now know that 13 priests with ties to local schools are accused of sexually abusing children. they released the names of those priests. 13 men on that list spent time nt gonzaga high school in d.c.

and georget prep in maryland. both schools apologized for trauma caused by the priests. ate of the allegations back to the 1950s. they released the list in an effort to be transparent and prevent further cases of abuse. the statement said, quote, we are deeply sor for the harm we have caused to the victims and their families. we also apologize for participating in the harm the abuse has done to our church. >> a budget increase of55 million. that's what is on the table for montgomery county schools and tonight i your chance to find out more. the proposed 2020 fiscal year budget is $2.65 billion. that's more than 2% raise over the 2019 budget. the majority of the added expenses would be for salary adjustments and the cost of larger enrollment. so where will the money come from? the school district is asking the county council to contribute $29 -- $29 million more than is required by law. you don have toeave your
