your car checked out. back here live along 95, i've been experimenting with this new app called drive weather. basically, i show you exactly how the weather is going to be all along your route. u can adjust the times. i'm going to try it out a little more and get bac to you athe bottom of the hour with more tips on how to make your drive safe and as fast as possible. reporting live along i-95, chris lawrence, news 4. >> chs, thank you. 5:04ight now. middlebrook road is back open in germantown this morning after a car hit a pedestrian there. this happened right at the intersection with ridge crest drive off i-270. it was around 8:00 last night. chopper 4 was over the scene. that 50-year-old woman was h rushed to thepital with life-threatening injuries. the 20-year-old driver was also taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay. in the districtwo pedestrians were hit near the national archives. as you can see, d.c. police roped off an area around the tour bus here on pennsylvania avenue northwest. police say the people were hit

by that tour bus. they were both seriously hurt. it's unclear if the pedestrians were crossing in the crosswalk or the middle of the street. we are staying on top of a developing story. a plan to keep the government open is in the wor. the u.s. house is expected to vote on a bill to keep the government running through the holidays and into next year. last night the senate passed a short-term snding bill to keep the remaining federal agencies open through february 8th. the bill does not include president trump's request for $5 billion to build a wall on the u.s./mexico border. >> we can make sure we don't end this year the way we began it, with another governmendown pcause of democrats' allergy to sensible immigratiicies. >> people do remember that president trump as a candidate said that mexico, not the american taxpayers, were going to have to foot the bill. so it's wasteful spending to have to bud a big, big wall for the entire border. >> the bill does not pay for raises for civilian employees despite attempts by senate democrats.e

an apartment building here on rhode island avenue. she's carrying bags. this is a little after 9:00 at night. she's being followed by two men into that courtyard. they hit h from behind, steal her bag, and then they make their getaway on foot. now, take a look at suspect number one. he is wearing what appears to be a down coat and blue jeans, a dark down coat and jeans. now, suspect number two is wearing a light-colored, knee-length coat. he also has his hood up during the robbery itself. at this point, no arrestse h been made. police are hoping that people will recognize the suspects that you saw in that surveillance video and givehem a call. back to you. >> megan mcgrath for us in logan circle. thank you. and today a jury will begin deliberations in the tical of a horrttack in prince y. george's cou laquin phillips is accused of setting his girlfriend on fire

robbed a woman from behind near loga circle. >> news 4's megan mcgrath is live along rhode islvenue to explain what happened.ll >> reporter: guys, we're seeing new video this morning, videof the suspects involved as well as the crime itself. it was captured on surveillance video. police are hoping s eone recognizes the people in this video. let's take a look at that first. this isideo of the robbery itself. this happened back on december 13th here00 in the block of rhode island avenue. it was just a little after 9:00. a woman walks into the courtyard of an apartment building. she's carrying bags. e's followed by two men. they hit her from behind, steal her bag, and then runaway. they're still on the loose. take a look at suspect number one. he is wearing what appears to be a down coat, a dark-colored down co and blue jeans. the second suspect is wearing a light-colored, knee-length coat. that suspect has his hood up during the cri here.
