just minutes before the accident crash. he puts the phone andown, it up and the phone rings again. he is see amountsing the phone, switching it between his hands at the exact momenthe bus hit the two pedestrians. this was the scene last dnesday night on pennsylvania avenue on seventh street northwest just bhoks from the white house. according to cou documents, surveillance video sws 45-year-old gerard james answering his cell phone and en switching the phone between hise hands at th exact moment the bus struck two women. james told police, he didn't see the women who are in the crosswalk. 61-year-old monica carlson and her he85-year-old m cora adams were killed. carlson was the mayor of skag way, alaska. they came to d.c. on a spur of the moment trip to see the christmas decorations at the james was the only person in the tour bus as he was makg a left-hand turn.

prosecutors say the driver h cooperated with the investigation and he was not under the influence of any alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. now, prosecutors also say that he has been cooperating. he stayed behind. he passed a urine test the night the crash. his lawyer tells us, in addition to pleading not guilty to these charges, he is continuing to cooperate. a t spokesperson f bus company would not say whether or not he was still employed with air bus tours. that's the very latest from superior court. news4. >> at least there's video of how it all unfolded. also, breaking right now, monks held hostage for hours at a church overseas. police in vienna are now looking for two suspects. the robbers demanded cash is that valuabfis. rs found the monks tied up inside the church. we're told one was seriously
