this area of silver spring at georgia avenue and east west highway. but insteadf getting t money, the victim got a gun in his face. he's a d.c. firefighter facing an armed robbery charge. he's accused of stealing a pair of these high dolla tennis shoes at gun point. police say he met the victim through the offer up app, an online market for buyers and sellers. the twogr allegedlyd to meet here at georgia avenue and east west highway in silver that was at noon on december 20th. they got in the suspect's car, then there was a dispute over the price of the designer shoes. e seller wanted $700. >> there was a disagreemeuc about how he was willing to pay for the shoes and at some point, he made the decision to pull out a handgun and basically rob the victim of the shoes. >> reporter: the suspect allegedly told the victim to get out of the car, then took off with the shoes. according to charging documents,

the victim tookic a pture of the vehicle as it drove away. it led pol te directly the suspect. moore's been a firefighter in the district for four years. he's now on leave as the case sin vest gaited. moore has beened chaith armed robbery, robbery, first degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of ay f and theft between $100 and $1 00. police are warning users of the types of apps. >> it can be very dangerous. we wouldn't recommend somebody getting into a stranger's whhicle, if you don't kno that person is. >> reporter: youy definit don't want to do that. now, the suspect has already been released from custody on a $5,000 bond. i called the cell pho number that was listed in court records for him, it went directly to voicemail. we should also add, at t point, police have not been able to rever tho shoes. you.to

a teenage girl filmed inside a mait'sng room while she was undressing. now, a popular ibartender facing some serious charges tonight. our northern virginia bureau reporter david culver learned this evening that police fearma therbe more victims in the fair oaks area. busy orter: the mall's with folks making returns or buying in on post-christmas sale in theidst of the crowd on christmas eve, a young shopper spotted sething that just didn't feel right. police say the young girl was in the forever21 dressing room and getting undressed when she noticed something was looking at her. she looked up. it was what she thought might be a camera. she immediately reported it to the store. >> our officers started checking other clothing stores at fair oa mall. the employee giving a very detailed description is what really brought this case together. >> reporter: police arresting this 39-year-olhe they found alexandria

david culver, news 4. be on the lookout for suspicious people, cars and noises. that's the warning after a of burglaries at homes in northern virginia. fairfax county police say k the don'w if all the cases are connected, but we put the 13 locations that have been hit on this map. you can see, they spread from great falls to fairfax. news 4's shomari stone explains, the criminals seem to cbe targetingtain people. that story, new at 11:00. >> reporter: good evening. people who live in these neighborhoods are concerned. police say the thieves are targeting people of asian of middle eastern decent. detectives are determined to catch the thieves. >> it's really scary to here that around here. >> reporter: fairfax county police say thieves have broken into at least 13 homes,in incl one on his block in mcclain. > it makes me really kind of worried that that's going on around here. >> reporter: the burglars broke into two houses on andrew lane, threeom onto robertson farms

a drunken, naked teenager breaks into a house in the middle of the night, frightening a couple and their baby. early this morning, a homeowner called stafford count 911. a stranger outside was demanding to be let inside the house. the homeowner grabbed his gun and fired off a warning shot.

but the 16-year-d broke a window to get inside anyway. the family barricad themselves in a bedroom and waited for police. officers found the teen asleep a couch wrapped up in a blanket. he was turned over to his parents. police say he'll be facing multiple charges rescuers are calling it a miracle. a sniffer dog found a 12-year-old boy alive and uninjured after spending 40 minutes buried under this avalanche in the frenchalps. the chance, by the way, of surviving an avalanche, typically are minuscule after 15 minutes under the snow.eo amateur vere shows the rescue helicopter called in to a airlift the boy from the mofrtainside. ch police say the boy was skiing offtrail and a group of seven skiers, when he was swept away more than 100 yards. police say hvi sd in part because his airways weren't blocked with snow. >> wow. surprise explosion at a restaurant sent people running

looking back at the numbers, this year, about half of the time, friday on into weekends, we've had anrain. the other half, we haven't had any rain, so, it's a 50/50 shot. >> what are the odds of that, ough? >> i know. it's very unlikely. this is the wettest year on. reco we've had about 65 inches of rain so far this year. almost more than double our normal total. and i'm already tracking drezzle out tnow. this rain becomes more widespread a tonight, and tomorrow, there will be some pockets of heavy rain out there, mainly during the morning and midday that could lead to flooding issues. tomorrow, your friday, is a storm team 4 w atherrt day. we do return to dry weather on saturday and sunday, but then r anothend of rain is in the forecast monday, the last day of 2018, on into very early tuesday, new year's day. here's future weather, though, tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. notice the yellows and oranges. that's pockets to moderate and

heavy rain. notice heavy rain, especially around the beltway, exactly where you don't want it at that showers elsewhere across the area. we move towards the lunchtim hours tomorrow, here we are at noon. showers still impacting a good portion of the area. i-81, already mainly dry at that point. 3:00 p.m., most of the rain is along and east of i of 95, through parts of southern maryland. as we move to tomorrow night, we start to dry out. your frida night is looking dry. plenty of clouds out there during the evening hours. our temperatures right n are in the low to mid 40s. we're going to see near steady temperatures overnight tonight. tomorrow morning, we start off around 50 degre at 7:00 a.m. and we actually warm to around 60, a highemrature more common in late march versus late december. so, if it wasint ra it would be a pretty nice day out there, relatively speaking, with that milder air in place. but again, we're going to be tracking rain tomorrow, especially during the morning,

midday and early afternoon hours. as we look to the weekend, 55 on saturday, 47 on sunday. with a mix of clouds and sunshine both days. warmer, though, on saturday. so, it's going to be the better day, if you have outddsr err to get done. but it is looking completely dry. so, the redskins game on sunday, not too bad out there, with temperatures in the 40s. here's yr new year's eve forecast. definitely want to ghe umbrella and rain jacket. temperatures not all that bad. slowly warming overni mid to upper 50s. as we take a look at ytor team 4 four-day forecast, look at the temperature roller coaster. 60 tomorrow with rain. 50s on saturday, 40 on sunday, we then warm back to near 60 degrees on januaryst. maybe some showers out there very early in the day. but most ofs tuesda looking dry, and then after that, it's dry weather as we kick off 2019. >> you tell anybody it's going to be 60 on january 1st, who's going to complain? >> i know, right? it will be nice.
