it's been escalating in recen weeks. we have seen the president increasingly lash out on twitter, in interviews, and the big question is what's going to happen? is he ever going to sit for an erter sl interview with r mueller? if you look at the number of people who have pleaded guilty, in the president's inner circle at one point about nine people. this is getting closer to him. if you talk to his allies, they say he is increasingly feeling boxedso in. ill he be able to not only launch a re-election but how effectively will he be able to legislate. >> and you nowem haverats in 2019 assuming power of one branch of congress. is there a division within the democratic party in terms of how aggressively to go after this president? >> there is. and it really is a divide among washington and the rest of the party. and this is going to be, i

think, real challenge for the speaker of the house, nancy pelosi, because, assuming s is able to get those votes, because if they don't, with all of evidence that they are basing -- they don't make an attempt to hold the president accountable, how do they answer to base voters? on of the reasons they wanted power was to hold this president accountable. at the same time, they don't want to be defined by impeachment. they are aware, they saw what t happenedthe republicans who let themselves be defined by impeachment wi bill clinton. think there is a divide. i think democrats have no choice but to go down throad and i think the question is going to be, what i'm watching is what is thetomach of the senate republicans? they are the ones are going to have to me an assessment arizona to when do they -- as to en do they have to fish or cut pa

people call these drops corrections. you say, is that a crash? what do you think we are headed for with all your expertise? >> i would tell you it seems like minies all the time these days. what i would say is that if we don't resolve things with china in some sort of peaceful way and if the federal reserve keeps hiking, yes, you will see a thousand down, 800 down, 500 up. it's gng to make people nauseous. it's going to be a nauseating year. >> should we take on money out of the stock market? is that good advice, or should you ride ts thing out? >> i think younger people have an opportunity to ride it out. i think as you geto closer retirement, you have to pull more money out. that's not because of defeat. it's because the opportunities away from the stock market haven't been this great in 12 years. >> right. >> so why not go? no sin in owning a cd or a oney >> what is the right thing? if i have money and i want to invest, if i'm jim amer, where am i putting my money?
