didn't always come easy because for much of her life her mother was in and out of jail and she was in and out of foster re. we have one woman's storage of pageantry and perseverance. ter: on the edge of our seats we relived the final seconds. >> contestant number 13! >> winning would be nice but simply having confidence to complete was her goal. >> growing up i didn'ti had much confidence. my mother after her being incarcerated, my dad being an alcoholic. r reporter: cordelia and sister were in and out of foster care. at one point she was actually homeless. >> i actually tried to commit id su i called 911 and the ambulance came and got me.
