congress was called into session and began work on ending the partialovernment shutdown. lastight the house passed two bills that would reopen the federal government. but neither agree on the border wall. either bill is expected to be signed by president trump. kday they'll head bac to talk about other pgs -- opeons. president will not sign any bill that doesn't include funding for a wall alo the border. >> this partial shutdown is also having a trickle down effect across our region. he done work for the government but she does rent out rooms in her home t federal workers. the single mother doesn't get paid between sesters so this is her extra income we're talking about here and because of a shutdown, anntern that was supposed to rent a room may have to cancel. she can't really have a

less than half an inch wide. so we're talking very, very small. very difficult to spot. now arrested in this case. the 39-year-old. some may know him as a bar tender in alexandria. police say he would wait in a dressing room stall, wait for women to enlter tter the stalls to him where he installed the camera. he watched and made railroadings from mid december until christmas eve to the height of the holiday shopping season. that's when a alert teenager spotted the camera and told a store employee. >> to date we have over 60 victims tt we have inventories and our fear is there are more. >> now police are looking through more than 100 video trying to figure outnow many woere recorded in this.

they also seized thumb drives and other equipment fromis home. now, for an exact list of locations and times thahese recordings were made, you can go a our nbc washington app. we have of that information right there. back to you. >> megan mcgraff, live for us this morning in fairfax, thank you.e >> pol are searching again for relisharudd. they searched the tunnels under the soon to be demolished dc. shelter. that's where she and her mother stayed befhe vanished. police were acting on new information that the man police believe was f responsible her disappearance had access to the tunnels. he was a janitor athe shelter. relisha was seen with him on surveillance video at a prince george's county tel. that was a month before his wife was found murdered in another hotel. he was found dead days lfrer an apparent suicide.

throughout the years, community members held vigils in hopes that relisha would be found. one community activist tells us he'shlad the sea continues. or proud of the metropolitan police department keeping the commitment, keeping the drive alive to continue to look for relisha rudd and search for he it gives me more hope and more incentive to continue my efforts. nothing was found in the search but police say they will not give up on this case. this morning, news of a eak in a cold case dating back more than two years. fairfa county policeay they arrested two men in the murder of 24-year-old t.j. sampson. in may of 2016, sampson was murdered in the parking lot of his apartment complex in the alexandria section of the county. police think he wasle k because he caught two men breaking into cars. one of the suspects was arrested september. yesterday, 19-year-old hawkins was also chargedith first-degree murder.

republicn capitol hill, president trump sitting down with the same issue. both sides digging in. neither side bending at least so far on money for this wall. it's unclear if this meeting can government pen the today or even where this negotiation begins. but they're givingt another try. so we'll continue to watch that meeting starting in a few hours at the white house. last night, democrats said they tried to reopen the government. they passed a couple of bills that would reopen the 8 departments that have nothing to do with the wall and the one that does, homeland security, wi get 30 days of temporary funding. but republicans aren't giving that a second look. there won't be a vote on it in the senate and today's meeting is the best chance to see some effort, some forward movement on trying to reopen the government and hoelp those 800,000 people that are outf a paycheck. >> tracy, thank you. >> our new local members of
