news4 has more on why polic are looking into this fire and a separate one about a block away. reporter: it was about 6:20 saturday morning when the call went in, the single family home on the corner of minnesota avenue and eli place was burning. >> we found two victims on the first floor, an adults male and adult female. >> reporter: both were dead on the first floor of the home, believed tore is have started in the basement. and both victims showed signs of injuries but it wasn't clear if those injuries hand before or after the fire. the man who lives nearby says he knew one of the victims sll. >> he dhat he does, but he don't bother nobody. he don't start arguments with nobody or nothing. to e's no reason for nobod want to do nothing to him. >> reporter: but this wasn't the only part of the scene. close by crews worked a less serious fire at a house one street over. >> in that house almost directl around the corner on d street southeast,hat appears to be suspicious in nature. >> reporter: no one was injured in that fire but four people

burned out of their home and the red cross showed up to help them out. policeay firefighters were at that house earlymo to miing in what sounded like an argument. there's a joint investigation under way as police and fire investigators sift through the remainder of a deadly and dangerous situation. a firefighter was injured fighting the fire on ely place after he fell through the floor of the house butec is ed to be okay. firefighters almost always wear their masks going into burni building. they especially had a good reason to wear them whileo responding fire in the northeast today. a marijuana dispensary caught fire on fenwick street. firefighters kept it from spreading from the first floht. one firef went to the hospital with minor injuries. investigators are still working to figurau out whatd that fire. meanwhile, tense moments outside the white house. counterprotesters confronted a right wing political activist and things got messy.

in the wake of all of these scandals, a group of catholic banning mbers are together to pray for reform but also to say they still believe in their church. the group is called women who stayed, and today they held a moment of prayer and reflection for s abuse survivors. the kneel to stand movement comes as bishops meet i chicago today to address the crisis. the woman who stayed spoke out today. >> i believe in the values of this church, and i believe that unfortunately there's been corruption and rot in the institution, and i would like to
