rather than one made of concrete. now the president said democra don't like concrete, so we'll give them steel. but look,hile mr. ump's definition of what constitutes a border wall is becoming more flexible by the day, democrats s haved all along that a wall, whether made of steel or ncrete, is a nonstarter. democrats believe a wall is a bad policy solutn and an awful symbol of american values. and the president is alsodging closer toward a radical move to fund his border wall. he's renewing this threat to bypass negotiations with democratic lawmakers and instead declare a national emergency on the southern border. that said, a dhs official tells nbc newso that emergency order has been drafted, and a source close to the president tells me the president thinks that talk of such a declaration wil at the very least signal to his base that he's willing to fight for this key campaign pledge. philip? >> the shutdown continues. jeff, thanks.

police in las vegas are on the hunt for a wom who they say ran out of a nail salon without paying, but there's much more to this story. surveillance cameras captured crystal whipple as she ran over the worker who tried to stop her. whipple's mother is urging her own daughter to turnerself in. authorities say she tried to pay for a $35 manicure with fake credit card and then told the nail salon owner she was going to her car to get the cash and that is when she drove away, towing down the owner. then car was found abandoned and police are now ramping up their efforts to find her. the u.s. military has confirmed the death of a man believed to be behind the attack of the "uss cole." a federal grand jury indicted al jawabi him on the attack on t "uss cole" which was refueling at a port in yemen at the time. authorities in texas
