ended by friday, hundreds of people will be without a paycheck. many of the people have children and face a frightening reality. in an effort to help furloughed workers, a prince george's county school board member is pushing for free school meals for children o federal workers. some parents talking to news 4, they agree. >> the kids don't deserve, you know, to suffer. i think, you know, i guess we have to find the money somewhere. but it's money well spent oo take car the kids. >> the proposal for free meals will go on as long a the shutdown does. school leaders will consider at proposal on thursday. four major d.c. area courthouses are expected to scale back operations one week from friday because of the government shutdown. the united states court system says the district courts o ty have fundiremain fully operational through january 18th. that includes the courthouses in d.c., greenbelt, alexandria and baltimore. because of the shutdown, the courts have been using court fees to pay the bills. on friday, staffing levels will

class collin potter stabbed a man to death inrt an ant building along wisconsin avenue sunday morning. potter enlisted in the navy in 2010 and is statiod in quantico. no word to what led the attack. we have an update on a story we brought you as breaking news. d.c. police say yesterday's shooting on i-95 was a road rage attack. a woman in the passenger seat was shot three times early monday morning. the woman told police the driver was speeding before r cut her car off. the driver shroud down and began shooting. the victim is pected to be okay. a dozen high school students in new jersey are recovering after an accident involving their school bus and a tractor-trailer. this is video of the crash.

for the fit time in more thanwo decades, justice ruth bader ginsburg missed oral arguments athe supreme court. the jurist is recovering from surgery where doctors turemoved twrs from her left lung. a court spokesperson says ginsburg will work from home as she recuperates. this morning, a new bombshell years after a case in virginia. the former governor has filed for divorce from his wife, maureen. details in the court records were immediately sealed after being filed in november. they were convicted of corruption charges in 2014. their defense focused on blaming maureen for agreements with the thelement salesman who gave family tens of thousands of dollars in cash, gifts and trips. during the trl, the mcdonalds said they were no longein livg together. both were cleared of all charges after a ruling by the u.s. supreme court.

hours after appearing in a courtroom in connection to a felo assault charge, kevin spacey was pulled over for speeding in the d.c. area. officers pulled spacey over on the g.w. parkway outside of n reagational airport. he was given a verbal warning, not a ticket. spacey began the day by pleading not guilty to the assault charge. this is the first criminal case for spacey who faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. kevin spacey isn the only celebrity, facing legal jeopardy over claims of misconduct. r. kelly is the subject of a docu-series, highlights allegations of relationships with teenagers and accusations from women who say kelly mentally and physicalled em. the series details the 2008 child pornography trial for

he wants t allow absentee ballotsor any reason. right now, voters have to have a qualifying reason. d.c. andaryland allow early voting. maryland and virginia's general assembly sessions begin tomorr. d.c. public schools says it is taking action to make sure middle schoolers receive science instruction. this comes weeks after an i-team investigation. it revealed that four middle schools were not providing enough science instruction.dd those schools include eliot-hein, brookland, kelly miller and cardoza. there were several reasons why, includinbudget shortfalls, the school district tells the i-team it is attempting to make up for shortfalls with a series of science-only days this semester. the clemson tigers beat alabama in the title game and are the national champions. the fans celebrated along with the team all night long.
