you're watching news 4 today. >> fears come true for roughly 800,000 federal workers that aren't getting paid. the government shutdown is now b its 21st day and there doesn't seem t an end in sight. >> growing pressure from workers and labor unions has not moved the needle in t standoff. tracie potts has more on the president's visit to the border to drum up support for his wall. good mor:ing. >> reporhe president went down to texas to try to use the border as a backdrop for support for this wall that democrats refuse to build. now, he's looking at a national emergency declaration, possibly within days, to get that money to go around congress and get that money from the pentagon. in d.c., the president said there is still room for compromise with democrats. but he may consider this declaration within days. last night on fox, he saido thee is backing off. there's no compromise here
