a teenager who went missing in october after her parents were murdered is found alive. >> 13-year-old jamie class was found yesterday about an hour ray from her home. she into a woman who was out walking her dog and begged her for help. this morning, we are hearing from the dog walker's neighbor, who called911. >> our neighbor came up to our do with a big dog and she kund of flung the door open. she said"call 911. this is jamie closs" and right t nexto her was a slender looking girl who l ked exact like jamie in the photographs we have all seen. >>an a incredible tstory. riow the sheriff's department is holding a press conference. they just identified the suspect as 21-year-old jake patterson.

the school board picked the name last night. last summer the board voted to remove general robert e. name from the school following the deadly attackn charlotte. several students opposed to the name change filed a lawsuit. the jud tossed that out. but the students are considering new legal action. we now know that president trump as former lawyer and fixer rochael cohen will publicly testify in of the house oversight and reformecan. it's scheduled for february 7th. last month cohen was sentenced in three years in prison. s crimes include making payments to two women who claim they had affairs with president trump and lie being the tmp organization's business dealings with russia. cohen says his blind loyalty compelled him to cover up his dirty deed three brothers will spend decades in prison for their roles in a police department ambush that left a police officer dead.

>> announcer: you are watching news4 midday. on this day 21 of the partial government shutdown, virginia's democratic senators tim kaine and mark warner are spending time in alexander rhea. they are meeting with furloughed workers and families who didn' get paid for the first time today. the two senators have been part of at diplo force on capitol hill working to make sure that those w tkers receiir back pay, especially the contract worker i had a chance to speak with one of those furloughed workers yesterday saying in these cases there is no guarantee they will get that back pay. it is goodw to k there is help on capitol hill about that. there is a lot of anxiety surrounding these workers. >> many of those work remembers ied about their finances and the domino effect that could have.

susan hogan has information what you can do now to lessen the blow. >> reporter: that's right. the majority of furloughed workers likely e don't haveugh savings. a survey found 78% of americans live paycheck to paycheck. for those of you with a mortgagr some helpembers offering assistance programs to federal employees impacted byhe shutdown such as waving late fees but you need to contact them immediately to let them situation. for those of you who rent contact property managers or landlords and see if you can work out a payment plan with them or at the least ask if they will wave a late fee for you as well. same thing goes with credit card companies. contact them now and ask if they will wave your lateee or pay only the minimum amount. and consider taking out a ort-term loan. some banks are offering furlough loans to those federal employe who have their checks deposited.
