th entire map still covered in pink, as we see that winter storm warning for a few more hours out there, as snow continues to fall across the area. and upper level low passing over us, bringingiv some impre snowfall rates across the area right now. no're still accumulating a little bit more and this is going to happen for the next few hours. here's a look at the biggerpi ure. i want to time this out for you with future weather. so within the next hour, we're still seeing snow across most of the area, maybe starting to wind down. but the entire d.c. metro area through fredericksburg and montgomery county stillnoealing with this system does start to wind down, still some snow in areas, gh. by 11:00 p.m., just light snow out there, especially for washington down through prarts f southern maryland. midn.mht to 2:00 all of the snow pushes out of the area. and then it's all about the cleanup. but temperatures tonight will be dipping into the 20s. so even if it's a little slushy out thereight now, it will be

right now take a look. we're in a parking lot. but this is 301. no cars coming through this area right now at this minute. i can tell you tha this road has been plowed,no but the is continuing to fall here, so it could use a little bit ofe plowing ogain. and that's the same for many roads here in the area. video io show you some shot on my cell phone on the way here. branchn avenue prince george's county. again, you can see that the plow hereks have been out clearing the roads, but as the snow continues to fall, there is a lot of slush and buildup on the roadways, and that's what people are having trouble contending with, especially if your road has a hill on it. me people are getting stuck on those hills, and also spinning out. we've been seeing people out plowing the parking lots and for the most part, it many people are staying home. because a lot of the roads are empty. but i did cat up with one guy who was having a little trouble getting around in hi sports car. >> kind of slides a lot. actually, on 301 yesterday, i was going home, and i was just

parts of our .ar it's been going in fits and starts all day today. >> right now that it's dark and temperatures are dropping, everybody should be extra careful if you decide to head outside. >>hat's right. ws4s cory smith is live in manassas with a look at the conditions there. and itoo like it is coming down pretty well down there, cory. >> reporter: yeah, leon and erika. seems no matter where you go across the dmv, this is what you are seeing. to fall hereinu in manassas. this area saw about 4 to 6 onches already, and as this snow just cnues to fall tonight, they should see more. the good news is, though, and i hear doug talking about this earlier today, this stuff is fluffy, not weighing down any branches or any power lines. in fact, there have been no reported power outagesere in manassas. and only a handful in neighboring prince county. the big concern today is the roadways. let's go ahead and show you some vide that we shot earlier of our trip into manassas, actually. the drive from northwest d.c. to manassas, not too bad. the roads slick in some places, but traffic light to moderate. a lot of drivers out there taking their time getting

around. we didn't see any spin-outs or crashes along the way. manassas city firee tells today has been pretty quiet for them. they haven't had any reported crashes witn the city. so a lot of people heeding the warning to stay home. once we got into town pretty quiet after that van came in earlier, the roads have stayed pretty clear. we saw few snowplows going by, working the streets. private parking lots, though, a different story.e thai restaurant clearing their parking lot nonstop. things are yslow, but t want to make sure customers who do get i get in safely. >> very slow. we expect tonight may be busy, c because somtomers just texted in and wecked, aree open. we said, yes, we are. we want to make sure we can feed you. >> reporter: and they actually are feeding people. we saw a couple of customers walk away with a big smile on their face. henow, as night moves on, obviously, the temperatures will drop. so, again, the w roadwayl remain a concern in the past

and yesterday forecasting about 6 to inches across the area. and the snowfall amounts coming in right now generally between about 5 and 9ou and saw mayor bowser there, about 8.5 inches. and that is right on point with what i'm seeing in the bethesda, college pang and wasn, d.c., area. about 8, 8.5. and we could still see another 2 inches or less fall before the snow winds down around midnight tonight. here's the check of the latest snowfall totals, and these are still updating across the area. but chantilly right now, the winner at 9 inches, reston, 7. leesburg a just over 7 as we gaithersburg. carol and frederick counties, baltime seeing 5 inches. 6.5 in waldorf and 6 inches down into parts of southern maryland. we did think that southern maryland would see aittle more snow than you picked up down there. the real winner right around the d.c. beltway, back into parts of fairfax and loudoun county. that is where right now i am seeing the highest totals coming

in. so here are your weather headlines. the snow ends tonight.of really kin wind down by about 9:00 p.m., maybe some flurries after that. byo midnight 2:00 a.m., all snow exitse'he area. but going to see some slick spots out there tomorrow morning. temperatures t so not only dealing with snow, potentially some icy patches out there, as well. and then chilly and mainly dry for the workweek. so we'll at least be able to clean up. here's what you can expect. mid topper 20s for overnight lows. again, the snow coming to an end around midnight but slick roads and sidewalks tomorrow morning. that's why so many school districts are already making that call right now, and closinr monday. check out our temperatures. we're generally in the upper 20s a few 30s and we'll fall degrees tonight, but not too much. 31 in washington. 38 in gaithersburg, as well as manassas. plenty of clouds tomorrow morning. are your future temperatures and 8:00 a.m.
