them on o app. >> we have the scene. pretty quite. not a lot of peopleut this evening. e> no. but some peopl are going to see nearly a foot of snow and the temperatures are dropping heading in the wrong direction now. amelia draper joins us now and you have new advisory? >> absolutely. so the national weather servi cancelled the winter storm warning and issued a winter weatheradvisory. this goes until 5:00 a.m., and this s foreverybody. all the counts here in purple so our entire area as we continue to track light to moderate snow out there right now. if you're in southern maryland, you could see another 3 inches accumulate overnight tonight outside of southern maryland, up into parts of frederickcounty, maryland, under 2 inches but still minorul accion is possible. in addition to that, roads are already a mess across the area and as temperatures drop

overnight tonight, any slush or water will be ice out there tomorrow morning. heres the latest on storm team 4 radar. th brighter blue coloring will be where the snow is falling heavier. you can see that in southern prince george's county, charles county, parts of nthern an anne arundel county and even intoarts of frederick county, maryland. now we saw an additional 5 or even six inches in some spots this evening. that increased our totals. snow will be coming to an end overnight tonight and we're mainly dry for the work week. look at 11 inches in bethesda. 12 in gaithersburg. this just in, 13 inches in columbia, i'll have much more on how this storm will impact the rest of your week and a potential for a wintry mix next weekend coming up in my full forecast. >> boy, unlucky 13. boy. thanks. we'll check back with you in a bit. if you're counting on metro bus

service tomorrow, you might need to findther ways to get around. metro suspended all sbus servic and they will be running but on a severe snow plan. getting stuck on wisconsin avenue in northwest c. icy conditions out there tonight making it too dangerous for drivers and passengers. tomorrow buses will drive only along major roads so you can expect delays and increased wait times. as you hear amelia say, the driving conditions have been getting worse for many of you out there. >>ome areasot an additional 5 inches of snow since we last saw you. >> many of us have to get up

tomorrow morning and head back to work. g yous as well. this is rockville pike in the rockville area. right here in thisstretch, it is wet. there's other parts here that are slushy. so it's looking pretty good in this area, and as you see, no traffic at this hour. so a lot of people are listening those warnings and staying at home, but many are concerned tonight. what happens when all of this freezes overnight? >> the dig out has begun. plow operators doing the work to clear s so businesses can reopen after the year's first snowstorm.nt montgomery c got hit hard. under a foot of snow in some places. here, conditions are slippery. the roads have been plowed but were covered over by another round of snow.

throughout the day and the afternoon and the evening and road conditions vary. you might have roads thatre clear. right here at rockville pike. there's some roads that have slushy and then we went into the neighborhood streets and some of them didn't look like they had seen a plow yet. so keep that in thmind. good news is, many schools will be closed so maybe people can sleep in tomorrow. >> thank you so much. >> be careful getting home tonight. >> our team coverage conditions. >> virginia state police saying th responded to more than 300 crashes across the state today. >> corey smith talked to folks out on the road. how are the folks dealing with the weather? >> about as good as the folks there. we drove up on one of the state police officers arriving to th scene of an accident. we'll show you here in a second. the snow continues to fall in northern virginia.

welcome back. continuing to track snow across the area. the most snow inla ma. southern maryland, you could see up to three more inches tonight. elsewhere, 2 inches or less. temperatures in the 20s and low 30s. we'll start off the day tomorrow with temperatures in the mid to up 20s. so slick spots out there. a heads up.a sidewalks, a roads are going to be icy in spots with plenty of clouds out there. s just someshine throughout the day but we do warm to about freezing. we get a little bitng of mel and as we look through tomorrow night, we'll be dealing with another refreeze. lunchtime tomorrow with temperature around 34. a high of i6 which cold for this time of the year. we're running 5 degrees belowrm for your monday and tomorrow night will fall below freezing once ainin sta off tuesday at 28 degrees. so the potential for some more residual delays and
