several shots were fired. an officer was in the area and when he arrived on the scene here, shortly after he heard the shots, that's when he found a i ma his 20s suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. that man was transported to the hospital in critical condition. doctors pronounce him dead. police say this shooting was captured on video. they have identified a suspect. live. back out here this is at first place northwest. you can see there is a camera up there, and police you can bring it back down -- police are talking to people in the area. they have identified the suspect. they will be releasing more information as it becomes available. they have not released the name of the suspect or victim in this case. live in northwe d.c. i'm shomari stone, a news4. right. thank you. we are leaing more about a shooting on a stretch of road that's become an epicenter for violence in recent months. that includes a handful of murders. >> bullet holes mark the hallways ofen a recshooting

the senate judiciary committee. this is a bit of ati reconfir for william barr he served as ag under the first president bush. whendy, if confirmed, william barr would potentially oversee special counsel robert mueller. so it's not surprising many of the huestions faced today dealt with the russia probe and the role he might play. asked if he discussed the probe with the president or others at the white house. barr said he had but not in particular substance or detail. barr who criticized the investigation in an unsolicited memo he sent to doj he said he woul't fire muell without cause and also said he would not recuse himself i ethics officials said he do so but he found reason to disagree with them. barr said he wants to defend the independence of the department. >> i will not be bullied into doing anything i think is wrong by anybody. whether it beri edi boards
