last night,ti invtors were locking in outside of his home, 40 minutes northeast of atlanta there. the investigation began to ramp up back in march after a tipster alerted authorities that taheb was radicalized and planned to travel ad. and then, in recent months, taheb startedo meet with what he thought wereupporters but were fbi gt ageagents. as the final touches were put on the plan started to come together. >> taheb was arrested. >> his intent was to target the white house and other items in the d.c. area, using explosive devices, including an improvised xplosive device and anti-tank rocket. >> reporter: taheb had his eye on se high-calibereapons there, we are told he never fired a gun nor had weapons at

the item found inside was designed to look like a bomb. d.c. police say a woman tried to snatch a girl outside of her home in georgetown. the victim's father said the nanny dropped t girl off. theirl was walking to the front door when the woman tried to drag her away. a silver spring man wdl sp decade in prison for having sex with a 14-year-old human trafficking victim. prosecutors say he knowi tly had sex wi girl in 2017. she was being trafficked by the ms-13 street gang. evidence included the video he tooke sexual assault, including this selfie. she was working at a bar when members of ms-13 beat her because she refused to be prostituted. she agreed to meet him.

make it a civil offense with a $50 fine. the mayor says the bill could have a negative effect on metro's budget. metro says it loses several millions due to fare evasion. the council is expected to m overturn tor's veto. today is the 27th day of the government shutdown. and there's no major move to reopen the government at this point. >> nancy pelosi asking the president to postpone the state of the union address orr deli in writing. in the request, pelosi said the service and homeland security should not have to bear the burden of that address when they're working withy. >> this requires hundreds of people working on the logistics and the security of it. most of those people are either furloughed or victims of the shutdown. the president's shutdown. >> the white house has not responded to the speaker's request. meanwhile, president trump signed a bill into law allowing

furloughed workers to receive backpay once the shutdown is nier. hap today, two protest rallies against the shutdown. one happens at noon. workers and d.c. employees will protest the senate republicans decision to hold a retreat in th middle of the shutdown. the second will happen at the united methodist building in t. northe this is held by faith leaders who want the shutdown to end now. as each day passes in the government shutdown, many federal workers are struggling to make ends meet. today, several groups in northern virginia willrovide fr meals to furloughed employees. megan mcgraths in fairfax with this story. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, guys. this is all happening in about an ho here at the 29 diner, a local institution here in fairfax. now, in about an hour, they're going to start serving free meals. j the ownust arrived a short time ago, jon wood. let's go inside here.
