outside washington is at or below 32, which is freezing. the district coming in at 34. so in the district inside of the beltway we're seeing snow falling but then changin over rain. nothing is sticking there. but here's a look at storm team 4 radar, where we're seeing some snow still pushing through the area, down towards southern maryland and a little rain mixingwn in n saint mary's county. this storm system moves out between 2:00 and 6:00 a.m. of course we're all over the situation. here we have photojournalist brooks maryweather heading into the arlington area. mainly wet road conditions right now. our news partner at wtop is reporting main roads are okay, but i'm seeing a lot of snow-covered side roads and driveways, especially north and west, doreen. >> okay, amelia. t oum controversial continues now. we've had our crews driving around all evening checking out the road conditions. >> news 4's shomari stone joins

us live. what's it look like where you e in rockville? >> reporter: right now i'm here at the montros road exit. the i-270, northbound and southbound lanes are moving rather well. i tell you that the crews in d.c., maryland and virginia did a relatively good job clearing the roads, t anticipatings snowfall behind me. take a look. ou can see all the cars and trucks now the concern is that it could possibly refreeze overnight. that is the main con that drivers are telling me. and they're keeping a lookout as they go to bed tonight it's back. just when the snow and ice started to melt, more has arrived. >> here we go again. >> reporter: this time a mix of rain and snow. >> mixed with the shutdoea, it's just ry affecting people. >> reporter: as she fills up her tank, rebecca is a furloughed government employee who is basically working for free. th gloomy weather doesn't help

deanna was an english teacher in rockville. school counselors have spoken individually with the students there. she was teaching athe time. additional counselors will be on hand tomorrow to help students and staff. tonighte know how much money metro is losing during this government shdown. the agency is losing $400,000 every weekday in fares and revenue. metro rail ridership down 16% during the shutdown. bus nridership is d 8%. in a letter to congressional leaders today, general manager saidhe won't jeopardize safety to save money. they could consider staffing or service adjustments, such astr trains to meet rush hour demands. in 2013, metro lost about $5.7 milln during a 16-day shutdown. a suspect dragged oute of

woods by police after a gun is pulled in a packed car. the driver and another passenger shot d thatver critically injured. jackie bensen is following this story for us tonight in prince george's county. >> reporter: there are still many more t questionsn answers about what happened down at the end of this long driveway. these images from chopper 4 showed the shooting suspect being walked out of the wooded area where he was apprehendedaf r what police describe as resistance. >> he was refusing to show his hands, possibly armed, so as a result our k-9 team did app helped the suspect. he was bitten in the hand, however, he's --weis injuries non life-threatening. >> reporter: a 911 call summoned first responders to the home on fletcher town road just after 4:00 p.m. police say that five people, including a juvenile, whose exact age was not ecified, were inside the car, which model to be an older

in town toh negotiate w him. the cancelled trip appears to be a payback move. yesterday, pelosi wrote to trump asking him to postpone his state of the union address until the shutdown ends. now, that -- not all government flights were cancelled today. late tonight, nbc news confirmed that first lady melania trump took a government plane toay florida t for a weekend vacation. now, she does typically travel by mility ane, but the timing of this trip is raising a few eyebrows here. doreen? >> all right. leon, thank you. a judge acquitted three rs who wereice offi accused of trying to cover up the fatal shooting ofea 17old laquan mcdonald. prosecutors argued the officersr coordinated t stories and filed false reports after mcdonaldho was 16 times by then chicago police officer jason v dyke. the judge ruled the state failed to provide legitimate proof of any wrongdoing. van dyke was convicted of in urd in october.

he's scheduled to be sentenced tomorrow. he faces between four and 20on years in pr police are combing through an officer's body camera tonight after he shot at asuspect's car in maryland. according to police, that officer tried to approach the suspect near central avenue here. minutes before the car had sped away fromra aic stop. it's unclear why but the officer thir off several rounds toward the suspect's car. we don't know if they bere injured cause they got away. the officer was checked out in the hospital and is said to be doing fine. two big rallies are appening in the district this weekend. and getting around town will be a bit tougher than usual. tomorrow, d.c. hosts the annual mah for life. traffic and parking restrictions will be in place around capital one arena. saturday, the women's march on washington will begin atreedom plaza. crowds may be lighter t years, partly because of the weekend forecast. >> weather conditions may

yorthern faulk ear counties, frederick coun maryland, back through washington county. the national weather service stil has a winter weather advisory in effect for all the counties in purple until 4:00 a.m. on your friday. impact a pretty low storm system just because of the timing, though. it's leading to delays and that's why we're in storm team 4 weather alert mode. ere is my snowfall totals forecast i have not changed this since last night. down through southern maryland, fredericksburg, around an inch or less. 1 to 3 inches, though northern montgomery, loudoun, northern faulk ear countiesnd along the i-81 coordinator. for thet part west of i-95 reporting a around inch. even college park, maryland, reporting an inch of snow. down into washington and southern maryland, reports coming in maybe 1/2 an inch, if anything at all. that's going tcontinue to be the trend. here is future weather at 2:00 a.m. stillhance for snow showers

across the area. temperatures pretty much at or below freezin 4:00 a.m. for our early risers out there. maybe some lingeringight snow d rain showers. not seeing that being a huge threat, though. certainly the temperatures just below freezing. you want to be cautious for slick spots out there. by 6:00 a.m. all the rain and snow mixed in here isut of here. a high tomorrow, check this out, 47 degrees, near 50 tomorrow. so as that rain and know is over by 2:00 to 6:00 ara.m., we up with some sunshine developing throughout the day. that's going to lead telng snow. for the weekend, saturday, a high of 46. sunday, a high o 42. this storm system now is looking a little bit earlier, meaning it also potentially ends bit earlier. it's mostly rain, and we're talking potentially around an inch of rain falling, especially later saturday into ver early sunday. an inch of rain would mean 10 inches ofnow. that much rain could lead to minor flooding concerns.

i'm watching areas north and west as rain moves in around the midday and afternoon hours on saturday, it might be cool enough for aintery mix up around the mason dixon line and th-81 coordinator. everyone is dealing with rain saturday night. as the storm ends, frigid air and arctic blast moves in. look at your feels like temperatures. friday at 8:00 p.m., 6 below in frederick. mondaymorning, 4 blow, the windchill in washington. this is some serious cold air moving in f our martin luther king jr. day. temperatures only feeling like they're in the single digits to around 10 degrees. that's why sunday and monday are storm team 4 wea der alerts as we track dangerously cold air moving in. but, again, the storm system is still evolving. we'll be talking all about it all day tomorrow. of course erchuck's iny early checking any delays. >> okay. thank you, amelia. coming up next, the wizards make london theirown.
