complex for seniors last fall. a newt repor by federal investigators suggest the cause may have been someonemoking in the attic of the building. mark segraves broke this story on social media today. he joins us live now at the scene in navy yard. mark. >> reporter: good afternoon. this report says the official cause of this fire will go down ruledetermined but it doe out any mechanical or electrical failures that couldthave started fire and said the most likely cause was someone smoking in the attic of the building. but the report goes on to be highly critical of the d.c. fire chief for denyingccs to this building after the fire to both investigators and to search teams. the fire broke out in the attic space of this apartment complex. while nobodyas seriously injured, dozens of seep yors lost their homes.
