martin luther king iii spoke about the importance of community. the civil rights icon delivered a sermon just weeks before his assassination in 1968. a bit of a scare for our friends with nbc news in downtown d.c. this morning. an electrical fire broke out there. the fire started inside the eighth floor of the tv studio on rerth capital . a window had to be broken to release some of the smoke in there. overhead sprinklers put out the fire, so that's good news. and also nobody was hurt. even better. amazon's arrival is a game-changer in northern virginia. we know that. today neighbors sounded off on the role the newua hearters could play in their everyday lives. . kkk flyers in a local community on the day before the mlk holiday. police say there not much they can do. why that cld soon change.

northern virginia residents got a chance to ask questions about how amazon's new h q2 will impact their lives. big turnout today at the charles houston rec center for this amazon town hall. elected officials from alexandria and arlington taking questions on a number of topics. they addressed concerns about how the move will affect housing and transportation. leaders saying they'll hold amazon accountable to make sure thwill be a good partner
