we're going to get another inch outf this one. this storm coming with a couple of facets. one, the rain. the flood watch in effect through the day on thursday. rain one inch to possibly two inches of rain. you combine that with a little snow leftover from our snowstorm a week and a half ago, and you combine that with the frozen ground and you've got a bit more in terms of flooding potential. the wind advisory t. ough 6:00 amorrow, and really it's probably going to be extended a little bit longer, but look where the wind advisory ismism winds could gust easily up to 50 miles an hour overnight tonight into early tomorrow. we're goi to time out the rain, time out the wind. this is why we're in weather alert mode. new, this afternoon the recent frigid weather taking a toll in fair fax county. >> that's right. three people have died in the past three days because of

the height of the holiday shopping season he used tiny cameras to film them. he aegedly did so at a forever 21 and at an h&m store at a fair oaks mall. police have been reviewing the more than 100 videos they'vese ed. we're following some breaking news in prince george's county. a teenager said to be in grave condition after getting shot in the head. police are still looking into howhis all went down. but as of now they know a pair of teens had been hanging out in a basement off rte 50. a gun wept off there inside that basement. pat, what have you learned about this? >> reporter: leon, two teenage boys said to be friends, how dig th a gun? how come they weren't in school?

pretty nice compared. flood watch in effect through the day thursday. fo anyone here along the i-95 corridor, it really does affect most of us for the potential of one to two inches out of storm. here's the storm, and i want you s focus what's going on down to theth. look at all these yellows and reds, and another line forming just to west of atlanta. this is what's going to be making its way our way overnight tonight into tomorrow morning. let's time out the rain for you at first. 6:00, not worried too much in the w ofrainfall. by 9:00, 10:00, starting to see some showers in the area. around noon, midnight 1:00 starting to see heavier showers. by around 1:00, 4:00 in the morning we start to see the heavier rain move in again. these lines are going to com through the d.c. area. look at this are, even some reds in here.t and w this is are some higher based cloud tops meaning they

and existing potholes are getting worse. >> and crews are trying to keep up with them, but how do these potholes form? here's storm team 4's amelia draper to tell you about that. >> unfortunately the wea er forecast for tomorrow and friday is perfect, pothole forming weather. in followed by freezing temperatures, and of course our transportation reporter has been tracking potholes across the area, even getting a massive pothole repaired onhe memorial bridge yesterday. we just how do the potholes form? , check it out. you have your road, your base, and your soil. and then you have rain moving in. as the rainfalls, it then goes into tiny cracks in the road. and then you seeai that collecting just beneath the road. a t happens after that whe pothole is forming? well, typically you get really cold air moving in like we'll see tomorrow night into friday. and as that temperature dropso 32 degrees or lower, at water freezes just below the road's
