popular bartender and a great dad to a young girl now accused of secretly recording other people's children and adults inside fitting rooms at popular clothing stores across fair fax county. on christmas e g a youl spotted a camera while she was changing at a forever 21. police arrived, started investigating and soon arrested him. since then investigators found more than 100 videos showing more than 60 female victims between december 15th to december 2h at stores like the gap, ah&m old navy. >> those stores are located fair fax county, virginia at the fair oaksll, the springfield nter. >> reporter: now, police are asking the community to try and retrace their steps. and if they think they were a victim to give polic a call. you can even text them on the number you see on the botm of your screen.

and back to our news and live pictures over central florida. this is highlands county where at least five people were killed in some kind of hostage situation and armed robbery at this suntrust bank in sebring, florida. police say right now they have id'd a 21-year-old man who called 91211230 this afternoon and sai he had fired shots inside the bank. this is u.s. 27 in sebring. they have discovered five people dead, perhaps others wounded. we'll keep you up-to-date on the story as more comes in from

street florida. here at home the frigid temperatures wave seen recently are now bei flamed for three deaths in fair fax county. two of the victiere elderly women who had wandered outside nursinghiomes. the was a homeless man searching for shelter. northern virginia bureau chief joins us live where police are asking all ofs to help make sure these are the last deaths due to cold. this is really a rough story. juli? >> yeah, hopefullye can keep this from again. the most recent victim an 86-year-old woman. police searching found her behind the facility in the snow on a d when the high temperature out here reached just 21 degrees. by the time police arrived here to help look for her on monday afternoon it was too late. as ofss scoured the building one look out from the third floor building and saw the woman in the snow. last week another elderly woman

for us. let's start first with that spat the "state of the union which seems to be a distraction from the bigger issue. >> it's also an indicator just how far apart nancy pelosi and president trump are on coming together on egoing the rnment shutdown. they can't even agree on when and where theil president give his "state of the union." and that to me is a sign they are very far apart on having any sort of compromise on the government shutdown. remember a the senate action we'll see tomorrow, and you ntioned those twobill, that's basically testing the waters, finding out whe the nos where before you can get to yes. until there's any sort of conversation taking place, other than angry letters back and forth be the president, i don't think it's going to have as much of an affect on anyone. >> we also need to talk about that separate issue, and that's michael cohen. the president's former fixer, if you will. he said he woul not be testifying at his planned scheduled date of february 7th,

i believe. he's citing threats against his family by the president. what's the white house response been this afternoon? >> well, what the president himself said is that michael cohen is only afraid of the truth, tt's why he's hiding from this public heari and not going out there. i will say that ultimately we will learn what michael cohen has t sayecause mueller's report is eventually going to be in some form likely to be mad public. we won't have the ability to redibility because michael cohen has said a lot of things on a lot of different matters. so i think a public earing woulalolow the public to get a sense where they trust michael con, where the might not trust him. president trump, though, clearly doubling down on his attacks as he has on both twitter and public intervis rydritical of michael cohen and his family. >> hans, thanks so much.

appening right now, you're going to want to avoidh 1 street near the white house. part of that road is shutdown because of that sinkhole that opened in the road. so the hole at the intersection of d street and this continued to grow. crews shutdown the road but it looks like it's going be a pretty sizable job. news 4 is on pothol pathis winter, and it seems like every day there are these new potholes forming and existing ones are just getting worse. and crews are trying to keep up but they can't right now. so how do potholes form? >> oh, my gosh, they're absolutely terrible i know driving to and from work. t's cringe worthy with the potholes. actually unfortunately the weather forecast tomorrow and

friday is perfect pothole producing weather. rain followed by freezing temperhaures. that's we're forecasting tomorrow into friday. tracking potholes across t area, and even getting a massive one repaired on muhorrial bridge yesterday. so how exactly do they form? look at this graphic. first i want to show you the basic structure of a road. you have the road, the asphalt suace followed piehe base and the soil below. when the potholes get really bad you can see that base exposed. here's what happens. first you have rain moving into the area. that water needs a place to go, and some of that water is going to find a place to go by filtering down through parts of the road, even the soil. as the rain movesut the water continues to drain and you've got cold air moving in. at that point the water frees and when water freezes it expands. think of a wboer le, you put it in the freezer, when you take it out and it's frozen solid

maybe the lid popped off and you see the bottle exploded a little bit. and that's what i mean when i say the water expands when it freezes. after that happens, you start to see little cracks develop in the road and a hole is left in the base as the water evaporates. and what happens then, you have the heavy cars driving over the road surface, over those cracks and you get those potholes fto form. again, more potholes in the forecast as doug and i are tracking rain, strong winds and ing temperatures. >> now we know. we will never look at a pothole quite the same. well, it's time to place your valentine's day flower order, get those dinner reservations locked down, and if those classic conversation candy hearts are part of your tradition, folks you're out of luck this year. candy store.com is reporting the maker of those sweethearts candy hearts recently went

emotion as he faced a judge. the 38-year-old balling after police say he was holding 23-year-old olivia ambrose against her will for three days in his charlestown. apartme his arraignment on a charge of kidnapping delayed after a doctor recommended he go to state mental hospital first. >> it would appear he does have some psychotic symptoms. >> reporter: court documents give us an ideama just ho resources went into finding him. police say surveillance images like these were key. and they used card information, where ambrose's phone pinged tuesday, and after knocking on his door for 20 minutes and using a drill investigators got innd found amber quote, crying with a horrified look on her face.
