bars charged with second-degree child cruelty. captured him choking a student earlier this month. he is a fourth grade english language arts teacher here. officers arrested him today. the news 4 i-team found he has been employed with d.c. public schools since 2004 and was a licensed teacher. in a letter to parents, bernard elementary's principal dr. grace would id mastenber remain on leave during the investigation adding, "i want to assure you that therafety of students is our number one priority, and we hold our educators to the highest standards. should it b deemed necessary, a long-term substitute will be identified." mastenberg is expected to have a first court appearance tomorrow. in northwest d.c., i'm shomari stone, news a prince george's county community tells news 4 tonight theyafeel u it's after a string ofeneveral violt crimes, all within close proximity to one another.
