having, the fridge it temperatures and the swing to the spring-like temperatures, that's what's causing the problem. now, the water is getting into the cracks and asphalt and freezing andthawing. that's what causes the asphalt to crumble and that's when those potholes start toform. now, some of these things can get really deep. they can be quite large and really damage your car.ha fixing damage can be down expensive. >> for someone with a small car such as me, i think that's probably why the insurance rates are so high in the city. >> they just dumped a dum of tar on the road and i ran over that bump, so that was awful. >> yeah. people lked to a lot of who have hit those potholes. sometimes you can't avoid them if there's oncoming traffic and it's right there in the roadway and it's not safe to kind of maneuver around it, then you just drive through that pothole. we've met people who have lost rims and tires and the likes. sot can really be a problem.

this morning. th roadway is well traveled at all hours of the day. sadly, it is where many have died over the years as well. that is why it has been an on going concern for those who live off of this roadway for commuters who use it and the prince georges county council. that's why on tuesday we saw them back a letter from the county executive calls for prioritized state funding for critical repairs along this corridor here. over the past t years, more than 60 people have lost their ves here on route 210 and it was in december of last yea at we saw tragedy strike here yet again. three childre killed after an alleged drunk driver crashed into the vehicle that they were in over the holidays. the prince georges county council says they wanted to do this. they wanted to make a change here on this roadway. that's why they raised their route 210 enhancements to the top of their priority list here
