rethis year com to the same time last year. if you take a look at the map the latest shooting in d.c. happened around 7:00 last night. the sceneas in the 1100 block right near the d.c./maryland line. a man was shot multiple times. we're told he's expected to be okay. no word on a suspectnr e a possible motive in thi case. now a frng story out of ouinceli wam county. bullets ripped t a home. they found bullets scattered throughout their house in ntclair. bullets hit the walls throughout the house inc in their child's warm. seven ofhem hit this home. no one was injured. police do not think the family wasge td either. they have reached out to their home owners association to beef up protection but so far has been done. >> i'm supposed to be able to protect my family, but, you know, you rely on your

neighborhood and your community to provide a little peace of mind. what happens when you reach out to them and they give you none? >> t homeowners association refused to answer questions from news4 and asked our cre to leave. it is increasing patrols in that area. a heated debate or proposed bike lanes in the dupont circle neighborhood has grown hotter. lat night during the the public clashed with city leaders and initial proposes to create the lanes near 21st industry was shut down. it was suggested to set themp on 20th street. while some argued the lanes would impact businesses in the area, other said bikers' safety should be a priority. >> more than 30,000 people die every year just going on trips in the district. if we build a protect the bike lane network in d.c., it's going that. a big cut int >> trucks that serve these businesses and these restaurants, they really do need

welcomeback. attention deficit hyperactivity disorder affects 8% of kids and many parents struggle with the decision to medicate their child ornot. parents have other options. dr. joua winer talks about which ones help the most. the decision to consider dly medications for kids with adhd can be a really sry one f parents. is that fear warranted? >> i think it is a hard decision for a lot of people. these are medications that if you go that direction you're lking about months or years in which your child might need these medications. it's definitely not a decision to be mlie tly. however, i do think some of the fear surrounding these medications is overblown. most kids do very well with these medications, by far the biggest problem that people will

that has roughly 1.5 to two times as much epa as dha. take roughly 800 milligrams per day of epa. and that has been shown to offer some benefits. it's not gng to work as well as medication but it is definitely worth trying. >> what are some other supplements or vitamins and minerals that a child could take that would workaybe not as eell as omega 3 and would beneficial as well. >> magnesium. clear benefits for adhd but it can helith some of that rebound hyperactivity when some kids get. magnesium has a calming effect. you're looking at taking roughly 250 milligrams of magnesium sit trait. zinc has been t tied adhd a little bit. takingil 20grams of zinc can benefit. iron can be a benefit. ybe talk to your pediatrician
