glimmer of hope for federal workers who fear another government shutdown. >> late last night, there was a verbal agreement between lawmakers to end the gridlock. fundinth for ond of the federal government runs out this friday. a congressional committee tasked with findi iningou common on immigration reform is working on a deal. lhere's plenty of work to do. no b has been brought forward and nothing has been signed at this point. the deal includes $1.4 billion for a border barrier that will cover about 55 les. the deal does not cover a concrete wall but would allow for steel slats. if you are a federal worker you are hangingop on to that the agreement will pass. and many of the workers whoul be impacted live in maryland. larry hogan went on cnn, putting pressure on democrats and republicans to get the job done. >> calling out the president and the leade in congress for their failure to come up with a

principle. does that mean? >> reporter: it means they have a framework. but not ever tne, includinghe leadership, and nottr president p, has signed off on it yet. he didn't know the details when night.tioned it last we got them overnight. here's what they have come up with. just over $1.3 billion for some sort of barrier athe border. fencing or steal slats, but not a concrete wall that would cover about 55 miles. much of it going through t rio grande valley. and another $1.7 billion for technology and agents and other things to secure the border. democrats and republicans both coming out last night, sayin this is the best deal they can come up with. not everyone got what they wanted. one big issue was how much detention space would be set ide for people, immigrants, arrested at the bo democrats wanted to reduce the number of beds. they didn't quthe get that. backed off. there will be a gradual reduction over the year.
