police investigators use dna to charge a former staff member here with the rape of a client. a womanas sexually assaulted here at the mvle community virginia. springfield, no one knew about it until august when her family went to police. >> they learned from the doctor she was pregnant. due to mental, physical inas aty, she was not capable of giving consent. >> reporter: 60-year-old bernard betts king is a behavior specialist. he's in custody charged with rape. mvle said they are cooperating with the investigation and king no longerth works a agency. a woman who transports clients here says she's known mr. king for years. >> what's your reaction to the fact he's been arrested for rape. >> i wasshocked. >> reporter: bernard betts king also workedhere, at the

aman frank. >> you may remember their names because our barbara harrison found them back when a difficu twist of fate almost ended their plan to spend the rest of their lives together. >> it did. i'm here to tell you the story. you probably saw some of it on e "today"show. but you know how far back it goes. was theolidays of 2014 when amanda and frank were talking about how soon they mightet married. her boys were thrilled about that idea. but with a sore throat that seemed to be getting rse, she decided to make a third visit to the doctor on christmaseve. >> we went back into the doctor's and they stillsu spected it was the flu. they checked my vitals and they realized i was barely breathing. >> she said a nurse listened to her che and told the doctor he should take another look. >> they yelled, call 911. that's the lastemy i have of christmas eve, 2014, being wheeled o on a stretcher.

one of montgomery county's top high schools is dishing out discip after students were ound handing out racist hall passes. derrick ward explains how the school and the pta plan to face this issue head on. >> reporter: several winston churchill high school students are going to be disafplined r they were found handing out so called n-word pses slips of paper allowing t holder to use the word without fear of retribution. but those students will be facing retribution after the incipal found out. the principal wrote, this behavior is disgraceful. a sentiment echoed. >> this is not a joke. >> reporter: students at winston churchill we spoke t said they believ the principal made the right move and it's goodshe's

derrick ward, news4. doug kammerer joins us now. tough ride home for a lot of folks out there. >> it's going to be thatay through the day tomorrow. even though the rain comes to an end by midnight, wet roadways and trees down, w tve seent in parts of montgomery county, howard county, numerous trees down in those regions because of the ice we've seen. outside, it's all rain across our region even theas a with the winter storm warning as the temperatures are above freezing and we are seeing the ice melt. however it'soing to be a long time before we see things get better up into this area. look we have heavier rain now. where we have seen issues through parts of upper aintgomery county, we're seeing the heavy at times through areas like gaithersburg, up towards damascus. heavy rain around tyson's corner. and the wider view showing mor raining with it.
