trees have caused power outages. be extra o carefulside until all of this completely melts. we're following the latest on the crisis in the commonwealth. dr. vankesa tyson sor the first time since going public with her accusations of sexual assault agnst the lieutenant governor. she spoke last night at stanford. >> on the topic of credibility, it deeply, deeply concerns me at least when women come forward that the deliberate attempt to try to undermine someone's credibility. >> tyson was booked to be on this panel on sexual assault months ago. e said that in 2004 fairfax forced her to perform a sex act in his hotel room. fairfax sayst s consensual. another woman says fairfax rainraped

her. he denies the allegations and will not resign. >> the boston globe reports the district attorney is willing to open a criminal probento the allegations against fairfax. this statement was received by fairfax.tatives for it reads he will cooperate fully in an investigation by the district attorney if a complaint is filed. he will file his own criminal complaint in response to the filing of a false criminal complaint against him. this morning the budget compromise to avoid a gov shutdown friday is getting blasted from sides including president trump. he says he's not sold on congress approving only a fraction of what he wanted to build a border wall. tracie potts has more on fallout as the clock ticks toward that friday deadlie'. >> just starting to -look >> reporter: president trump is the wild card as congress inches

no word on any injuries. and inge prince ge county police are investigating a deadly pedestapan crash. itned late last night. police say a man was hit by both a car and a pickup truck in t 3900 block of st. barnabas road. road crews are working to lean up the mess left by this crash. a bus driver had to be pulled by the mangled bus. that driver was thenly person on the bus at the time. you can see tracks from the bus there throughd. the busted through the median and onto the grass. several other cars were involved but what driver the only person hurt. it's not clear what caused the accident. the redskins efforts to n secure a stadium have taken a major hit. maryland governor larry hogan says de ise trying to put the stadium next rs national r. we have more on the governor's decision and what's next for the am. >> reporter: it looks like it's back to the drawing board for the skins now that governorrr

hogan announced the spa at nationa harshbor will not be to a new stadium. the redskins and maryland's governor were looking at that space and hogan still wants to acquire that space from the federal government, but heo doesn't wantt a new stadium there. we reached out to hogan's office for more i heard back just yet. meantime, where can the skins go? support for returning to rfk site in d.c has dwindled. as for virginia, the former governor was all about bringing the redskins to the commonwealth t the current governor hasn't given any indication that he's terested in housing the team. they keep our kids safe getting to school and back and so today we are saying thank you to cg guards throughout the dmv. >> it is crossing appreciation day. we go to fairfax county with one guard who serves three schools a

polic in new york city are mourning the loss of one of their own.ve nypd detecti brian simonson was shot and killed by friendly fire late last night. he was responding to a robbery at a cell phone store in queens. officials say the robbery suspect who is a career criminal

pointed what looked like a real gun at officers prompting them to start shooting. a sergeant and theuspect were both injured. those people are expected to be okay. detective simonson was a 19-year veteran of the force. he was 42 years old. new information this morning more than two years after a woman was abducted and raped at gunpoint somebody has been charged with the crime. the incident happened back during labor day weekend in 26 in alexandria. jesse burke attacked a lifeguard po working at a pool in an apartmt complex. man attacked her and forced her into a pool house and raped her. the two never met before. burke is already in jail awaiting trial. he's been indicted on six felony charges and faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted. this morning we're getting a look at the man police say

the breeze is blowing so there are windchills below freezing across northern maryland. afternoon highs in the mid to upper 40s for most. probably closer top 50 in downtown with a blustery north and northwesterly breeze. for ltomorrow, a littls sunshine. a lot less wind. and milder. we'll be down below freezing early tomorrow morning but respond nicely to the sunshine and the return of the winds out of the southwest. so low to 50s coming our way for tomorrow. this next storm coming onto the coast now. o our s going to turn i saturday snow chance and the jet stream is really howling out here today. the jet stream i running almost 200 miles an hour today. so flights from honolulu to los angeles are probably going to land an hour and a half early. in the great lakes, it's snow showers. if you drive north of the pennsylvania border, it's very cloudy and flurry and snow shower just southf there it is a pretty nice day around here. only snow chancesoday are up across far western maryland and
