>> i'm eun yang. we start with a weather alert once again. this is the calm before the storm. the sun is out and it's dry outside. you can expect things to look different at this time wtomorrow. thter storm headed our way, expected to start as snow. ur favorite. >> oh, yeah. lauryn ricketts is tracking the system and begins our coverage. lauryn, give us the latest on the forecast >> the latest, eun, said the same as overnight. that's good news. this stormsi pretty cent as we make our forecast and kind of tweak them a little bit across the area. here's the storm system right now. just start to go evolve andmo ng out of the deep south eventually it's going to head through the mississippi valley and up to the ohio valley towards the great lakes. spreading precipitation into our region. now, nothing happening right now in our area. that's the way it's going to be for your tuesday. no early school dismissa. no problems later on tonight for after-school activities. if you need to go t the grocery store at 9:00, 10:00, you can go

around the gion. theoad crews will not only be dealing with snow but a wintry mix that ultimately turn to rain. >> at the v dot facility off the van dorn street, they're mixing soup the brine tion, making sure the tanks are full and ready to go. >> major roads in fairfax and loudoun counties were pre-treated overnight. you can see the white lines on the pavement. vdot crews will lay brine duriny the in prince williams county. if you're going to have a wintry mix, itas best to with the snow. that's what will happen with this storm. that way crews can pre-treat. when it switches over to sleet add then to rain, officials will adjust their final attack. >> when it turns to rain, that's when we have to make a judgment call to say where are we? are we covered on the ice where we need to? the roads are looking good, we'll pull back and stop putting chemical out there. it's just going to wash away.

>> rep that death last night on route 210 counts as thh tenth d on a prince george's county road so far this year. dian head highway known for being heavily traveled and dangerous as well. now word of yet another life claimed on this stretchf road. chopper 4 was up over the scene here last night. close to 11:00 p.m. at berry road and route 210. a three-vehicle crash that, again, left one man dead and three adults all taken to hoeiitals for treatment of injuries. of course, some staggering statistics with the one death last night. now counting among more than 60 people who haveied on route 210 over the past decade. we had five deaths here on indian head highway just last ar, including three children who were siblings killed just days after christmas. more than 350 wrecks here on route 210 last year and some 6400 traffic stops made here as

well. we can tell that you in the wak of all of this, prince george's county police have been working to make this road safer. they've had more dui checkpoints. so farhi year. they've issued thousands of traffic citations hoping to make their presence seen ando felt hereake the roadway safer. however, they also say, too,rs that dri must step up as well. and drive slower and also pay closer attention to save their lives as well as others on this roadway as well. we're here in ako keep, justin finch. a sixie person from a crash earlier this month. it also killed five children. family members deced toake cornell simon off of life support yesterday. he was riding in the passenger seat of the suv on february 2nd when it veered off route 301 and hit several trees. in five children, ranging ages from 5 to 15 were all thrown from that suv.

simon's mother is heartbrokenil that she never see her son again. >> he's my first child. he's 23 years old. he had head on his shoulders. so i mean, what's supposed going through your mind? my child gone. f over the weekend, the funeral was held the five children who died. the mother of two of the victims was the dver and the only person who survived that crash. > new this morning, former acting fbi director andrew s mccas he ordered a counteriveelligence igation into president trump. at the time, he says he felt there was enough information to suspect that the president might be a threat to national security. the "today" show's savannah guthrie asked him about the explosive claims in the book. >> why should anyone believe you when you were fir from the fbi for lying? >> two reasons. before the president startbl ly attacking me, i enjoyed a 21-year career i the fbi at every level an agent can serve

doing okay after a nightmare ride in sdiego. rescue crews had to rescue 16 people, including childrenho were trapped on this gondola ride. they were above the water on the baysky ride. they were up there for like five hours. you can see dark veo of the rescue here. fire officials say a big gust of wind tripped a circuit breaker.

maryland and virginia joining 14 other states suing the trump administration over the president's national emergen declaration. the president will redirect federal money to build a wall ualong the./mexico border. news 4's tracie potts reports. >> this morning aut his declaration. >> california is leading 15 other states challenging president trump'ser national ncy at the southern border. the state's attorney general calls itncstitutional theater. a misuse of presidential power and accuses theresident of robbing taxpayer funds. >> for a guy who declares a national emergency on friday and on saturday less than 24 hours later he's in florida at his resort, i'm not sure how well it plays that this is a national emergency.

it is the first time he's commented publicly since admitting to wearing lackface decades ago. there's a call for the virginia lieutenant governor, justin fairfax to publicly testify follow two allegations of sexual assault. meredith watson saysairfaxhe raped when they were students at duke university in 2000. in a "washington post" article, my privacy has been violated yet i am still willing to testify under oath. dr. vanessa tyson also offered to testify. watson writes in the op-ed article, our plea to the virginia general assembly to require the same of fairfax has been met with inaction. fairfax has denied both allegations against him. medical marijuana is legal in states, including maryland and the district. yet, there is no scientific proof that it works for a wide hange of symptoms. >> don't tell tt to the folks who rely on the drug to treat

what do you put in yours? oc>> we use ingredients and do things different with them. instead of the heavy classic fondue, have something different. we've roasted down some bacon here with a due i can't that we make in house. the key to making the fondue simple, without running into e trouble,ve our seven sisters cheese which is amazing by itself. >> what kind of cheeseit is >> it's like a sharp okcheddar. >>. >> we mix it with a little bit of cornstarch. a simple secret to making it t coether without it becoming an oily mess. then we take oyste liquid. we deglaze that. >> not the oysters? >> just the liquid itself. >> vermouth. we're building on flavor after flavor and creating something new. >> is spicy at all? >> it adds a sense of heat with depth of flavor is what comes from this.
