eier blocked by a tractor trailer. our team coverageonnues now with justin finch. >> he is live in northern virginia with a look a the roads. where are you and what are you seeing? >> we have just made our way here into mosnnases. road crews standing by for the way. that is coming our we are not seeing a lot of cars on the road. number of schools are closed today and as a result, people are staying inside. we ag see that salt treatment down on the road. that brine, as well. vdot crews have been working around the clock to get the roads ready for that storm. virginia state police have been saying, hey, if you don't have to go oy, to stay inside until at least midday so these vdot crews cane out here and work ahead of this snow and ice in the forecast today. also, too, virginia state police are extending shifts when needed

air aloft moves in. so t will change thisr o from all snow at the onset here to a little bit more of a mix little bit later on as the warmer air moves in. not had to update our snow forecast at l. the m that we drew yesterday is still fairly accurate one, indeed. here's a look at future weather. again, that may start as wet snow with a mix of rain early becoming all snow by 7:00 and me metro area until at least noontime. then here comes the switch over get rom snow to rain as we into parts of the afternoon. by 4:00, our high resolution model here has everything in the form of rain. some wet snowflakes mixing in. these brighter yellows out here in the shenandoah valley, pockets of iciness. we have to watch that very carefully. e could be a glazing. american model pretty consistent now. day this was cranking out nearly nine inches of snow here. a great amount of temptation
