there have been a lot of case.opments in this we have all of the key dates leading to smollett's arrest in the nbc washington app, just search time line for details. now we turn to an alleged case of domestic a coast guard officer fromsi er spring, maryland ordered to stay behind bars. chris gordon is outf court. tell us what it was like inside there today. >> reporte leon, it was a packed courtroom. lieutenant hasson coming in, head shaven bald, wearing a maroon prison jum suit, looking straight ahead totally serious the entire time. prosecutors say they seized his computer with a search warrant and it indicated he was doing search on the yuan bomber and a norwegian terrorist that killed 77 people and left a road map for others to follow.

the prosecutors calls christopher hasson a domestic terrorist saying his writing shows an intent to murder innocent civilians. saying he targeted democratic politicians and media personalities. >> the sheer number and force of the weapons recovered from mr. haon's residence in this case, coupled with the disturbing natur his writings appear to reflect a threat to the safety of our community. but the defense lawyer says the government made a characterization filing an inflammatory document to attract media attenti and bring pressure on the court to assure detention. hasson, theefense lawyer says, y acharged with two nonviolent of addict and misdemeanor possession of a synthetic prescription painkiller. hasson has not been charged with terrorism and denies each and

a care giver, a montgomery county man admits to abusing an autistic p he cared for at a group home. much of the abuse was caughtn camera. mark segraves stepped out of the circui courtro in rockville where this man is learning his sentence. >> reporter: he's facin up to seven years. he was originally charged with 14 counts of abuse and assault. this happened over the course of one not just one incident. several incidents night after night according to prosecutors who played some of the video in urt. let's look at some of that video now. you can see prosecutors say this is the care see punching in the stomach, the 22-year-old authotic man had been in the care of this nonprofit group home for seven years. now his family was in court today, pleading for mercy andg apologiz the family. it was emotional when his mother got up to testify, he himself
