on friday, house republican omen and nvited both lieutenant governor justin fairfax to testify at the capitol. as northern virginia bureau chief julie carey reports, it comes over fierce objections by democrats, saying it is an election year ploy. >> reporter: with a day ltht in 2019 session, house republicans say it's time to move ahead, to open an investigation. >> the committee will schedule a meeting, wre we will invite dr. tyson, ms. watson to testify. we wilalso be inviting lieutenant governor fairfax to testify. >> repter: it's been exactly two weeks since the second of two women came forward to accuse the lieutenant governor of sex assault, alleged incidents that took place in 2000 and 2004, incidents justin fairfax say were consensual encounters. both women have said t their attorneys they want to tell their story to the general assembly. >> the last three or four days, the victims have constantly asked us to do our dut >> reporter: vanessa tyson has
