"early today" starts row. and good friday morning. i'm phillip mena. >> i'm frances rivera. president trump is back home bum y-handed after his north korea summit ended with no deal. and he rurns to washington beleaguered by a new scandal and still reeliin from the sca testimony by his former attorney. michael cohen is set to appear before congress again next wednesday, exactly one week after his dramatic public hearing. and mr. trump's edson-in-law j kushner is at the center of a controversy over his top sseret rity clearance. nbc's susan maginnis joins us from d.c.ith the latest susan, good morning. >> reporter: frances, good morning. the president landed insh gton just hours after his former attorney michael cohen wrapped up three days ofce appear before congressional committees. in dratic testimony cohen painted his former boss as a racist con man who directed him to lie about extramarital affairs and about his business dealings in russia. president trump made an appearance on fox and
