snowy saturday morning here. welcome back to "today" on this messy one. three something inches overnight. >> pleasantl surprised, it is snowing. it is cold. .he crowd is hugemen i found out it is rolling spring break. >> we'll say hi n asecond. the weather tops the news this thmorning. northeast getting hit hard. the west coast is about to get the same. dylan is tracking all of it for latest? >> we have a couple storm systems moving through. it is a one, two, three punch w're in the middle of right now. whre seeing falling across the northeast is around 2. the next one aived tomorrow night. 80 million people are under winter weather advisories o some sort from coast to coast. this was a live look from plym th, massachusetts, whe they have just as much snow falling as we're seeing here right now in new york city. it's been snowing all through the night. we have 3 inches o or so the ground. it looks pretty on a saturday morning when you don't have to wake up and drive in it. the roads are slushy, and they

slippery. the snow isn't going to last that much longer in the new york city area. p 80 milliple are under some sort of winter weather watch, winter storm warning bause of the systems from coast to coast. here is what's left of the snow. it is going to snow for several hours across southern new england. you're in it right now. new york, it's going to wind down shortly. across connecticut, it'll last a while, too. this will pull away into the afternoon. it lingers in southern new england. 3 to 4 inches that it'll pull away. sunday night, the next round of snow moves in for the northeast. these are snowfall totals. a lot of us is already on the e groundecially in new york city. across boston, 3 to 4 ches. utheastern massachusetts, we could see a little bit more. the next storm system islready producing really heavy rain out through california. this is a fast-moving storm. it is going to race through denver as we go into tonight, thre by tomorrow, w going to see heavy rain through the southeast. snow spreads across t ohio

river valley sunday morning. sunday night, it arrives through the northeast. by the time we go into monday moing, it'll start to exit new england. we could see several inches of snow out of the nt event. peter? >> dylan, thank you very much. breaking news overnight. we saw a successful launch of a spacex rocket with a dragon capsule that is now o its way to the international space station. this is huge for both spacex and nasa. it could pave the way for aue successfulh of a spacecraft that could take humans to space. tom costello was up all ght, watching the launch at the kennedyce center in florida. this was a dramatic scene overnight. >> reporter: could not have gone any better. really spectacular as we watched the falcon 9 rocket lifting off here from the kennedy space center and sitting on top the dragon crewvehicle. 39a. if you're a space history buff, you know that's where they launched apollo missions and

space shuttle missions. listen for yourself, watch for yourself. it was picture perfect. >> five, four, three, two, one, zero. ignition, liftoff. >> reporter: spacex, mission control calling the flight, as the rocket cut through the nig what a great night it was. a few minutes later, main engine cut offir as the stage separated and fell back to earth.in signature move, spacex seems to have patented themselves, it landed on a ship 300 miles out into the ocean. on board the dragon ce,w vehi we have a mannequin headed to the space station. his name is ripley. he i wired up with sensors to monitor the g-forces and stresses that a real astronaut might one day experience. if this trip goes well, we may see a manned test flight come as soon as july. nasa would have to be 100% confident before any nasa astronaut climbs on board.

more testimony from trump insiders and t eatening to subpoena white house documents, over reports president trump personally ordered officials to give a security clearance to his adviser and son-in-law jared kushner. ovdvruling thee of security officials, as first reported by the "new york times." the move prompting the then chief of staff and white house counsel to white memos outlining their concerns. the special treatment for kushner contradictstrhat mr. p told the "times"? ian. >> i don't think i have the authority to doit. i wouldn't do it. i was never involved with his security. >> reporter: a spokesperson for jared kushner's attorney says they were not, aware nor told of any request for or action by the president to be involved in the security clearance process. and nbc new has learned how democrats are preparing to formally ask the irsor mr. trump's tax returns, possibly within the next few weeks.

let's move on to other news we have today. under fire ming today for selling anti-vaccinaon books and movies. now, a lawmaker in california is calling out amazon, saying thes sale of t items is a, quote, direct threat to public health. nbc's morgan chet ssky is in lo angeles with more >> the world health organization labeled in anti-vax movement one of the biggest health threats of 2019. ad schiff is taking action, hoping it can save lives. >> reporter: the largest retailer in the world, facing calls for accountability. e target, amazon's anti-vaccination books and movies. a quick search reveals dozens of titles available to anyone willing to buy or lieve. california lawmaker adam schiff calls the content a public healththreat. in a letter to amazon, he writes, dear mr. bezos, i am o writing o my concern that amazon is surfacing and recommending products and content that discourage parents from vaccinating tir children.
