we have checked in with nicole. and they're seeing a little bit of rain but a little bit of sleet, a little bit of hsnow. so s tricky forecast for you guys. >> this has been tricky from the start. but i think we're starting to get a good grip, a good handle on what to expect as we head through the overnightinours. and i we are going to lean towards the lower end of any totals. arfore we get to totals, let's talk aboutngs and advisories. because there are some updates.a d.c. metro atill not under any warnings or advisories. now w do have southern montgomery, southern howard southern loudoun county no longer under that winter weather advisory. that has since shifted farther north into those counties. we do still have frederick county, maryland, and countiesb ering pennsylvania under the winter storm warning through the overnight hours. that's your update as far as the advisories go. this does not mean we won't have any impacts farther north and west of washington, d.c. before we get to the impacts, let's take a look at the radar and see what's going on.
6:19 pm
look at widre that dg line is. it's starting in loudoun county, going through tip ofaiax into parts of montgomery and up through arease like pri george's. and here's the thing. south of it, just rain. and that line they're probably seeingore snow, sleet, rain mix. farther north, steadier. sn at this point it has been very difficult for this snow to stick as it has been relatively warm throughout much of the day. and as we head through the is setting, we mayee a little un uptick in that intensity, but still not going to see it amount to much. farther south of the district, ots of rain still falling, widespread, moderate in the darker green shades in warrenton and down into southern maryland. and that's you'll you're goi to see through the overnight hours. let's talk timing. notice the time stamp there in the corner. as i push ahead, look at what happens. that dividing line between snow and rain goes even farther north. and so that's one of the reasons that the national weather service was prompted to go ahead
6:20 pm
and cancel those advisories. as it does that, it's going to really droprehose totals we expecting. and you can see it pushes all the way into baltimore, only areas probably going to see some snow staying on the groun and probably frederick, county, maryland, northern car rtyl co this moves out by 4:00 a.m. and by 7:00 a.m., we'll at some cleari wake up to some sunshine for a change. and we are dry through your monday. okay. leo ahead and talk totals now. so here's what's happened we have adjusted this to account for that warmer air farther up in the atmosphere. and as a result, any chance of tting 1 to 2 inches of total snow is going to be pushed farther int areas like northern montgomery, possibly, and those higher numbers like 2 to 4 inches are now farther north towards hagerstown, orthern frederick county, maryland. so folks, for your monday, there's still an issue with this system or impact it will have. it's going to start in the 30s.r teures in the mid 30s throughout much of the day. the big impact is going to be the icy spots. temperatures are actually going to dropping overnight.
