you're watching news 4 today. civil rights leaders and presidential hopefuls went to selma, alabama this weekend. this weekend, to re-create the historic 1965 march across the edman pettis bridge. this later became known as bloody sunda t on that day, state troopers beat the demonstrators as they ngied to cross the bridge. this led to the voights act later that year. hillary clinton, jesse jackson, and cory booker were among those attending the march. a fans family of a former contestant on "the voice" are reacting to her death over the weekend. you may remember her when you hear her voice.

reeams in alabama will be looking for survivals trapped in rubble. two powerful tornadoes swept through eastern alabama yesterday.is rone video shows the extent of damage. you can see hoju after home, leveled, complete destruction there. 23 people are dead, including an 8-year-old girl. the sheriff there says the deatr toll coue as they look for people reported missing. >> the weather troubles continue in misssippi. this is not a lake. this is farmland, with a two-lane road running through it. the area was flooded when rivers dnd lakes flooded. r conditions are so poor on the faparkhat the park service is taking measures to keep drivers safe. aimee cho is live with what commuters need to know.

good morning. >> reporter: good morning. we've been driving along the b.w. parkway all morning long. i want to show you how bad the pothole problem is. this is video from r little earlis morning. ulthe card over along the side of the road. that's powder mill road. to help event flat tires like that one, the park service is lowering the speed limit the b.w. parkway. it's 55 to 40. and that affects 7 and 32. the hope is that this new speed limit will givor drivers time to react and will also make the roads safer for repair crews t there fixing the potholes. e b.w.arkway has gotten so bumpy because of the changes in the weat in the fall, they plan to a portion of the parkway, which wille a long-term solution. did you know, if your car gets damaged from a pothole, you can file a claim to have the

government repair your car. i t a link to that with more information. you can find that on my twitter at aimee cho. >> thank you. new this morning surveillance video from montgomery county police, showing a suspect that may be behind multiple bank robberies. detectives say the man you see here is accused of robbing the same bank twice. tthe bank is located insi safeway grocery store across the street from shady grove medical center. the first robbery was in january. the second in february. call montgomery county police if you know who this man is. this morning, police are trying to track down a woman and her 4-year-old daughter. no one has seen them sin friday. police found the woman's vehicle parked at lake forest mall. the pa could be headed to family or friends in another state. we're told that she has shorter hair than this paragraph.

you're watching news 4 today.u >> if yoink you're seeing a lot of dollar stores popping up, it is not your imagination. there are now more dollar stores in america than walmarts or mcdonald's. while the stores offer different items at a reduced price, there's a concern that the amount of these stes keep other businesses away or unable to stay open. in tulsa, oklahoma, the city council is trying to reduce the number of dollar stores to make way for other stores selling fresh fruits and vegs. many people complain that dollar stores are the only options in urban areas where grocery stores aren't being built.
