one of the big stories. >> across a lot of the country gday. we have a lot t to, but let's begin with that. today's weather that won't quit. snow, flash flooding, tornadoes possible not midwest and tut as well. dave price is back now, following the latest round of another major winte storm. dave? >> sloppy and dangerous. let's take a look at this video from alabama. baldwin, alabama, suffering through its longest flood season in five years. some are saying it is the worst they've ever seen. third time this year residents have been forced to leave their homes. theye returnin boats. cars submerged, houses gone. a tough situation continues for sections of the southeast. we'll talk about that more in just amoment. in the meantime, it's our active weather in sections of texas and oklahoma this moreng where we already seeing wind gusts upwards of 60 miles. per ho we'll continue to watch through little rock, into sections of missouri, arkansas. as we head through this area, watch for severe thunderstorms.

watches and warnings already posted through late morninghis morning. that's our first area of concern. secondarea, back to alabama, stretching as far back as texas, up through missouri, into kentucky and tennessee. 15 million people at risk. storms with damaging winds. potential once again for tornadoes. stay aware. this area just a little bit to the north and whet of we saw that targeted area last weekend. third weekend in a row though where we're watching the threat of severe weather in the southeast. as we look now at the midwest through the ohio, vall heavy rain with a flooding risk. strong to severe stfms. all that begins to push on eastward, bringing, again, rain stretching through a good bit of the country. a snificant amount, talking upwards of 3 inches through he ohiovalley. wouldn't be surprised to see watches and warnings for flooding posted in these areas over the next 6 to 12 hours or so. we'll keep an eye on it. all of this rolls to the

thd is closed. deputies continuing to investigate. right now, n information is being released about the victim, but deputies want to hear from anyone who may have any information or seen anything in that area. a cold case solved nrly a decade after a woman was raped in montgomery county. a teen aasaulted by an unknown man who held her at gunpoint. now dn evidence has linked the attacker to the crime. security video shows chilling moments before a hooded man attacked the girl at a nursing home in gaithersburg back in 2010. police say he shoved a gun against the back of her head. he then forces her into a he restroom, he assaulted her. years went by without justice for the victim, until last spring. th's when montgomery county police were alerted about a man who was behind bars on a felony drug charge in virginia. >> they entered his dna into the database system, and they

all new this morning, a jury convicting a woman or stealin money from a warren county vfw, then tried to burn the pla down. the fire happened in the summer of 2015 in front royal. according to the "royal examiner," prosecutors d deavers set the building on fire to cover up her stealing. she took over $100,000 other ve years. the jury recommended the ivghtest sentence, fe years for arson and six months for the embezzlement. a sentencing hearing is set for may. chopper 4 over the scene of a big apartment fire in montgomery county friday irternoon. the displaced 24 families and caused $800,000 in damage. four people were injured, ncluding three people who suffered smoke inhalation. another suffered a hand injury. the fire broke out at sunny brook terrace, just off mid county highway at around 1:45 yesterday. fireestigators say it was anse accident c by someone who left smokingaterials on a ball

responding to this super 8 motel. courtney burrows dialed 911, saying her husband, james, was t ggling to breathe. an apparent drug overdose. >> at the time, i didn't even ink there was a risk to me. i thought i was just there to help somebody. >> reporter: officer piersol among the first to arrive. >> we didn't know until at the end of this that there was white powder over almost every surface inside the room. we couldn't see it. it was dark inside. >> reporter: the officers detectives to use their narcan on james, to counter the effects of opioids. >> something we didn't think when we issued it initially, that w something we'd have to use for ourselves. >> reporter: chief nye had just gotten to the office that day. first hear that one of our officers had potential exposure, then that just grew a secd officer, a third officer, fourth officer. >> reporter: after securg the scene at the motel, the officers oayed there until a search warrant was sign on. all the while, unknowingly breathing in what was likely fentanyl, a powerful and
