rare rebuke. the senate is set to vote on a resolution to block the president's national emergency declaration. the declaration allows the president to pay for a border wall, without congressional approval. the house approved the resoluon and it appears there t enough republican support in the presidento pass the relution, but not enougo survive the expected veto from the president. and president trump's former campaign chairman, paul to 3 1t, was sentenced years in prison. last week in virginia, he was sentenced to 47 months in prison for a different conviction. he may serve around seven years total. he could face a bigger problem. a short time after htence was handed down, a grand jury in new york indicted him on charges of mortgage fraud, conspiracy and falsifying records. t> during yesterday's hearing, the judge here hgh talk for manafort and his legal team.

megan, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. different student organizations ve different plans of action here this morning. here at springbrook high school in silver spring, students have arranged foruses to come about 8:15 this morning and drive students to a metro station. this is going to be happening across the dmv. ultimately, the students will make their way to the white use, where they will participate in aok0:00 rally. at this video. this is a similar walkout held one year wago. th in the wake of the deadly parkland shooting. the student organizers are calling on lawmakers to pass tougher gun control investigation, including universal background checks. we are expecting thousands of students around the dmv, not just here inontgomery county, but in d.c. and other jurisdictions, as well, to participate. after that 10:00 a.m. rally at the white house, the students are expectedoo walkapitol hill.

you may have a hard time believing this next story. >> d.c. is one of the least aggressive big cities to drive in. a survey says that d.c. is ranked 20th out of 30, when it comes to aggressive drivers. the city with the most aggressive drivers, no surprise, los angeles. the survey graded ivers on speeding, hard braking and swift acceleration. it found that friday is the most aggressive day of the week. trying to get home and start our weekend. wednesday is theimalmest. baltore ranked ahead of d.c. at number 18. >> who knew? wking this morning for your health with a warning about leftover medication.

while you may think u found a good hiding place, many kids the easily find pills. a new report from safe kids worldwide says, evy ten minutes a child is rushed to the emergency room after taking medication they found. we're not talking about highly addictive opioids here. most often, children get their hands on medicines used to treat high blood pressure or diabetes. >> even medications that are over-t-counter, that many carry in pses or wallets or leave on theounter, can be dangerous for children. >> experts recommendngeeping anytith any medication out of the reach of children. ab> the d.c. region has enjoyed some cool but reas nice weather this week, it's been a different story for the rest of the country. >> for the midwest, a major blast of winter. a record-breaking ic hurre-strength blizzard hit seven states. meteorologists call this a bomb cyclone. ckuck told us about this. wind gusts are cg in at 80 miles per hour. more than two feet of snow has fallen for some and for others, hail, rain and even tornadoes.

that is crazy. >> in south dakota, it's flooding that's the problem. the bomb cyclone brought rain to that state. that and mixed with the melting snow put a town under water. this is 65 miles north of sioux city, iowa. roads became rivers there. a lot of drivers became stuck, as well. there was trouble for those who didn't leave their homes. sewer systems became overload and basements were flooded, too. and look at what was spotted in new mexico. a big tornado there, blew through parts of that state and areas of texas, too. this is one of two tornados that touched down in new mexico. ten homes were damaged. minor injuriesreported, as well. we're tossing to chuck bell. i was trying to get histe ion to tell us about what kind of forecast we're expecting today. >> the kind your going to like, eun. sunshine today and near 70 degrees. >> wow.

that had to turn around yesterday, an immediate about-face, after the faaan unced all boeing 737 max 8 and max 9 jets were being grounded as a result of new information being covered about that crash over the weekend in ethiopia, as well a a max jet crash in asia some months before. we c a tell you here the airport, that southwes s passengers aff did immediate rebookings and other airlines, too, to reshuffle their plans for the immediate future. this was a bit of a mess for passengers as thel spring tra season heats up. and for some yesterday, it was just too much to take. >>re you set? frustrated? >> not as much as the kids going to disneyland. thehere were kids crying on flight >> yes. that's the worst.
