fire investigators are still here hours later sifting through all of the rubble. i also want to show you video oe what hap to cause that damage. several condo uni caught on fire. could you see a huge amount of thick smoke coming from the windows. this is an older building and the fire chief said there is no rinklelers here and the street was filled with first responders and over a hundred firefighters trying to put out the fire and get everyone out of the building safely. now two residents and one firefighter had to be taken to the hospitaan thully it does sound like they're going to be okay. i talked to one resident who ves next to the unit where the fire started and that woke up this morning to his neighbor scream >> it was like an inferno. it was horrible. the fire from her unit was popping, glass shattering everywhere. my husband is fine. our dog is fine. and we're just trying to make it through the day, through the morning. >> you saw the light and people going outside, so only thing we

urice wheele he was shot to death on hillside road south00st around 1ast night. our cameras were liv there soon after police responded. there is still not much information about what could have led to the shooting or any possible suspects in the case, but there is a reward being offered of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this homicide. a second person was shot and killed in southeast yesterday. we know his name, it was rodney gordon, officers found thed 44-year-ol just after 2:00 in the afternoon n branch and alabama avenue. there is a reward also being offered in this eocase. v of a young boy being placed in handcuffs causing a stir on social media db -- d.c. police say the so-year-old and two other boy were involved in a robbery on massachusetts avenue on saturday. the victim said o of them placed him in a headlock while other flashed a bb gun and

demanded his cell phone. in a statement the d.c. police say officersif nd the 10-year-old's mother immediately and placed him in h drove him to his mother's house. they say he was never under arrest. however, police did arrest a 13-year-old boy for his role in this reported robbery. this morning maryland man is accused of trying to hire someone to threaten a little mother. her police say 63-year-o massoud mokhtari met an undercover police officer in the parking lot oftg monery mall in bethesda and offering him $350. he wanted him to go to a north potomac town holm and force hisd way i of the home and put a gun to the 7-year-old's head. w he then instructed to tell the mother that she had just three days to leave the home or that her daughter would be, quote, gone. >> detectives learned what his plans were and fearing for the

relating --in rel to what we do and experience today? how are you able to adapt it and make it so audiences can really appreciate it? >> well it is timeless, but dan, as the director, can address that. >> sure. well the play 12t night is about twins who are ship wrecked and landed in a foreign country where they don't know anyone so there are themes of immigration and disassimilation and the twin has to disguise herself as a man to survive so themes of genderr and gen identity and it is also a musical in a way. shakespeare loved music and incorporated a ton of that into the show. >> who are you hoping to appeal to because we want to bring in our younger people into this classic kind of eerience. and how were you able to do that best, would you say? >> well this year for the first time we have a matinee with student pricing -- >> that helps.

>> that is a lot. and they have to still come in that way and i think that shakespeare is being taught as it always was in schools but i've seen people more edaged - because it is timeless. and the themes arena et it doesn't matter if it was 400 years ago or yesterday. >> and we've bn doing workshops in the community to let the students know the show is happeningnd get them ready to experience 12th night and make sure they understand the premise of the play. they've been really receptive. >> and i love you have brunch on >> champagne brunch. >> this is a special part for me because i understand that writers struggle to be heard and when wetu insd the playwrighting competition it was to give them another place to be. another place to go with their and this year we hadth mor 430 submissions from all over the world. >> oh, wow. >> new zealand and brazil and even one from azerbaan.
