area roadways, that's something she doesn't take for grand. >> i tryo take very good precaution because again, i know how crazy people are and people will jus drive reckless. >> reporter: carnage has been a recurring theme on our roads. it l startedt thursday when this tanker crashed shutting down the bell way for hours, and then yesterday this tractor trailer crippling both directions of the belt way. ortly after, a 12-car pileup resulted in a fire. finally this morning a wrong way driver caused a crash that killed two people. >> i hate howeckless people are. >> reporter: a spokesperson for aaa tells meve that though these crashes happened in different places, they share a common thet in t the agent believes they were preventable. he says they also point out the v vulnerability of our aging highway infrastructure. eric ca kelly saw that firsthand yesterday. >> coming home i just oh.

border. thank you, jay. new video gives us a frightening look at the growing gun violenc problem in our city. d.c. police released it. three men pop out of a car on newcomb street southeast. this is southeast d.c. this was back in february and they just start opening fire. this video was captured on surveillance just before 2:00 in the afternoon, so broad daylight. a reward is now being offered for informaon about these three men. the victims of a deadly dhooting here in the district have been identifs two men in their early 20s. their deaths come as police havt been dealing a spike in homicide. part of a troubling trend that started late last year. ws 4's zadarcy spencer joins us live with the latest. darcy. >> reporter: well pat, we are here on nash street where this triple shooting happened just last night. right here in this apartment building. as you said, d.c. police late this afternoon released the

names of these two young men who died here. they were23 ear-old joby mcdowney and 21-year-old desmon. richardson both were shot in the hallway of the apartment building yesterday evening around 8:15. a third victim survived the shooting. he was shot in the leg. he was found in crashed car blocks away from the shooting scene. the murders happened atepsy from two schools and the deanwood rec center. >> it saddens me and it's heartbreaking. of course, coming down here and seeing so many kids outside, seeing a woman's football team havi practice at the same time and just to see that this brazen act of violenc happening in our community and a lot of people will tell you that deanwood for th most part is a peaceful counity. woo we're resilient and defiant, bue

nasty friday. 51 right now with the rain coming down. yep, temperatures in the 40s. this is whe g it realls nasty. only 46 gaithersburg. 42 in martinsburg. we've got a little wind chill at times. we have seen winds gusting 15 to 20 miles an hour. a couple of spotty dry areas, but we are dealing with the heaviest rain coming in through parts of montgomery county. right along 270 over towards the lhton area, towards gagte gaithersburg, rigg rockville as well. here's the storm system. it looks like ixisng but it's not really. we still have a lot more to go as far as the cloud cover. the rain may move out, but the clouds remain pretty much right on through the day you see what i'm talking about. all the way back to the west we've got cloud cover. that has to move through. th rain is moving through by 6:00 tonight. little bit more dry areari here. t on through about 7:00. you notice if you're going to dinner, once again, you may see

the last nnounce. erik >> susan, thank you. new at 4:00, a group of tenants in norwest d.c. is banning together fighting against a landlord they say is king advantage of them. most of the people living in this columbia heights building are immigrants. they say their landlord neglected the building for years. nowueroperty v in the area are rising and the landlord wants to sell to adevelope an advocacy group just stepped in to help the tenants organize and publicize their fight. >> fighting for your rights will be scary, but they are fighting back. they know that they have the law behind them and that they have tse community. >> the ten began a red strike to try to force the landlord to see their side of things. instead of paying the building's owner, residents are putting money into an escrow account. the landlord denies the allegations but directed us to his lawyer who has not responded to our interview request. for nearly 90 years,

down constitution avenue between 9th and 15th. if you want to get down there during the day, 10:00 to 12:00 is the parade. by the time it's done that's when we start to break out of the clouds and the longer we go. i really think we're getting into nice weather. ytemperature around 64 3:00. then i think the temperatures kind of shoot up as a result ofe some sunsh during the afternoon. that's why i've got a high of 69 7 maybe 71 on your sunday. looking pretty good sunday. if you have games, kids have games, b looking goodh saturday and sunday. especially for baseball games sunday. soccer games, n problem either day. i know my daughter's got a soccer game on saturday. soccer we'll get through. baseball might have an issue early in the morning tomorrow because of the rain that we've seen, but the afternoon game is okay. sunday's games arebeoing t okay. monday high temperature of 77. 74 on tuesday. chance of storms on monday. we'll be watching that system closely. could maybe have thunderstorh activity wit, especially in the southern zones. 62 wednesday.

first at 5:00 tonight, innocent. >> a rare statement this evening from d.c.'s top attorney saying that 10-year-old boy who was placed in handcuffs never should have been. detain >> video of this incident went viral earlier this week. erika gonzalez joins us at the live desk with the attorney general's atement today. you said it, wendy. the video set off a firestorm on social media oveee thend and we blurred it to protect the boy's identity. d.c. police placed the 10-year-old inandcuffs because they believed that he had taken part in an armed robbery near union station. now d.c. attorney general karl racine says that is not true. he says his office reviewed surveillance video that the crime and there is no ovidence that this boy had anything to with the robbery. totally innocent are the words that racine uses. the statement goes on to say, quote, i am speaking to you day to publicly exonerate this young person and to stress the
