nerious fraud charges, att michael avenatti is firing back, taking aim at nike and one o the biggest young names in basketball. nbc news' stephanie gosk is following this story.od morning. >> reporter: you know, as the country waits for the big game, michael avenatti is leveling egexplosive aions against the ncaa, nike and the best coege player in the country zion williamson. michael avenatti refusing to go down without a fight, dumping dozens of pages of documents over the weekend and accusing nike, duke university and the collegefame in basketball zion williamson of beg involved in a widespread payment scandal. avenatti alleging that the mother of the de star received illegal paymts from nike during her son's recruitment before williamson exited to for the nike-sponsored school.

avenatti tweeting at duke men's basketball, can you please a zion williamson's mother sharonda sampson, whether she was paid by nike for consulting services in 2016 already '17 as a part of a bribe to get him to go to duke. avenatti released 41 pages of documents to twitter, material he claims sh nike dished out big moneyo families of top recruits to try to lure them to play at nike portfolio sponsored schools. the files consisted of what appeared to be text exchanges, redacted bank exchanges and invoices, thoug nothing linking williamson and his mother was included. in a statement, duke's athletic director says the school is looking into the allegation involving williamson's mother adding every student athlete at duke is reviewed to ensure their eligible. with regard to men's basketball, all recruits and their families are thoroughly vetted.
