week. he will lie in repose. the funeral will be held af coupleiles away at st. john newman church. he passed away this past sunday, he was 72 years old. if your younger, you may not know the names charles van doren. for a few weeks in the 1950s he was all anyone could talk about. he passed away yesterday at the age of 93. at the end of 1956 and beginning of '57 he was the central figure in a scandal involving the enormously popular television game show "21." he would plead guilty to lying to a grand jury about cheating on the show, later admitting it was all rigged. in 1959 he told congress he was coached before each segment. it was a scandal that robert redford turned into the movie "quiz show" in 1994. it was nominated for oscars including best picture. van doren stayed mostly out of the public eye after the scandal.he he wrote for "encyclopedia brittanica." >> those were the days when we

're told the fire i out but caused significant damage. officials say two adults, two children, and their dog are now without a home. they made it out safe o. on their animals did die in the fire. that's the very latest from the live desk.
