in ang shoplifncident that led to an officer firing her gun. good afternoon, everyone. i'm leon harris. >> i'm pat lawson muse. no one was hit in the shooting and police do have one person in custody. all of this unfolded outside of the home depot in college park. >> our prince george's county bureau chief tracee wilkins was t first to arrive theree scene. she joins us live with the very latest. >> reporter: leon, just until a little while ago this parking lot was filled with prince george's county parking lot and detectives. they are now looking for two suspects who got as shoppers prepare to spruce up their spring j garden,t a few yards away detectives investigate a police-involved i shooti the home depot parking lot. >> we have had some challenges in this city. >> reporter: turns out this hom de college park is such a hot spot for criminal activity that undercover and uniformed prince george's county police officers are here regularly

those additional police came in handy today. >> management identified two individuals in the store that they believed were ines the pr of stealing several hundred dollars worth of epitem >>ter: the police chief says that a uniformed officer inside the store began to pursue th alleged thief who eventually abandoned a shopping cart filled with high end power tools. he and two other suspects take off in a car nearly striking the officer who fired one shothe through windshield according to police. >> but it's clear by her actiond on that she is issuing orders when she has drawn her weapon. >> the getaway vehicle was found a few miles away a short time later but two of the suspects were missing. >> we have the driver ocl that ve in custody and we have that vehicle in our poeg ssessi at this point. we are now look for t remaining two suspects. >> in the past prince george's county police have released blogs looking for suspects believed to hav stolen from this home depot before. we're told the theft doesn't only happen inside the store.
