ware in storm team 4 weather alert mode as you wake up on this stormy monday morning. a live look outside now, and at 4:30, 'such calmer than it was a few hours ago. >> the storms that may have maken you overnight are moving -- may have awakened you overnight are moving out. it was a busy few hours of thunderstorms, tornado watches, and even two tornado warnings in southern maryland. those storms kept me up all night. good morning, everyone, i'm eun yang. >> i'm aaron gilchrest. thanks for waking up with us on this mondaymorning. storm team 4 meteorologist lauren ricketts has been busy bringing youhe latest updates over. we'll check in for a look ahead before missa tells us how the

roads are faring. >> the roads will be the main issue especially this morning as we had a lot of downed trees. this rolled through last night. it was rolling all theth way rough the deep south and moved into the d-lantic. you can see those storms are now out of here. i do believe s that inthern maryland we're seeing a few showers in the northern neck right now. just coming across 360. extreme southern maryland, we had a tornado warning just about two hours ago south of st. george islands. we are seeing stronger heavier rain, no lightning associated with that. that's about the only thing going on, light showers by winchester to loudoun county, at's right here. otherwise, you can see this is pretty much out of here at this point. main story today are going to bh winds. the severe weather threat is over, but we are weather alert because of these winds that are going to be gusting to 50 miles per hour. we've had a few power outages. we could have additional power outages as we go through the day and those winds pick up.

>> reporter: yeah. right now i'm on the baew parkw. we just took the exit off the beltway. we're not seeing lane in. you may notice on the windsareld where w using the wipers. that's just road spray. we're not seeing the rain coming do anymore. we are dealing with some of the problems that cropped up because of the storm that blew through ernight. we a headed to old laurel bowie road and 197. there' ia tree down that area which is blocking the roadway. that causing problems in area. we've also heard some reports of a tree down on 202. we'll check that out, as well. keep in minds that there are problems here a there, downed trees. we've encountered a lot of standing water, especially in the dark. you might encounter as you drive along a bigfool or pond water in the road. it might cause problems, hydroplaning if you hit it going too foster. those are the -- too fast. those are the kinds of things we're seeing. wild monitor the situation and have more on thehe tree in

bowie area. we're headed there now. back to you. >> megan mcgrath, thank you. now the same storm system bringing damage and closures to our area wreaked havoc across the south. at lerst eight peoplee killed by the storms here. i tornado touched down in troydo -- a tor touched down in troy, alabama. in texas, tornadoes carved a path of destruction while stroying several homes. officials in louisiana say one of the fatalities there was a 13-year-old boy. in the day ahead, front royal mayor hslis tharpe expected in a warrencourtroom. he tells us he was indicted friday and charged with soliciting a prostitute last may. tharpe tells news4 the situation is embarrassing and the charge are baseless. as> sheriff's deputies need help solving a sexuault inside of a nightclub in loudoun county. the alleged attack happenet the rio cantina in sterling early sunday morning. a w aan says man she didn't know began kissing and groping her in astairwell and pulled her into a private room.

call the loudoun county nyeriff's office if you have information. police continue looking for suspects after a deadly shooting in suitland. is happened on saturday around 3:00 a.m. officers found two mensi shot a home on maywood lane off suitland road. one of the men was pronounced dead on the scene. the other was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. police are working to determine a motive. in prince george's county, o well, a driver had t cut out of i had car after m aor crash. two vehicles crashed on veterans parkway at annapolis road in hyattsville. that was yesterday morning. both are expected to survive. the push for safer roads in prince george's county continues. toda the county executive and police chief will hold a news conference to discuss traffic enforcement and awareness. enhanced efforts began in december when three kids weren killed route 210 when the car they were in was hit b a suspected drunk driver. the prince george's county state's attorney will be at the conference. you can look for updates on thep
