stficials say the fire involved a couch on the fir floor but no word on how it started. an update now to thatetro shutdown that's going to last all summer. metro is already extending the project before it even starts the platform improvement project closures are now going to go past labor day. six stations will close starting memorial day weekend. it applies to all the stations south of reagan national airport. the metro needs to rair crumbling concrete platforms including the brad okay road station. crews will fix the platforms all in this area so they comply with the americans can disabilities act. the closures will again last through september 8th. and nou mayd to plan ahead. part of rock week parkway will be -- rock creek parkway will bl ed. >> we have more from nicole jacobs. it's not only going to affect drivers but runners and cyclists, too. >> reporter: absolutely.
