thing. police say that white van you se streakingown the middle of that road hit and killed a cyclist this morning in northeast d.c. witnesses say the drir went through a red light. the man hit another car and then hit the cyclist before slamming into a tree. coming up in the next half hour, chris gordon talks with witnesses who saw the whole thing unfold. >> we are alsoearning more about another deadly crash about a mile and a half over the d.c. line in maryland. foureople killed when a driver lost control along sheriff road. that vehicle slamming into a utility pole after flipping multiple times. derrick ward is live at the scene with the factors investigators are looking at. derrick. >> indeed they are. the rain will likely wash away those investigators marks that were made at the scene. but that investigation is indeed still going on. it's taken another phase. of course, it cannot wash away the grief tha several families in our area are suffering after

that crash happened here along this busy stretch of sheriff road late last night. it could be months before the cause of this deadly crash that claimed four lives on road is fully known. prince george's county police do have some preliminary information and they're seating to piece the events together. this chevy tahoe was westbound at about 10:30 thursday night. 35-year-old samuel moss was driving with three passengers in his suv. >> up ahead there was another car trying to make a left turn. when the chevy tahoe approaches that car, there is a maneuver where the occupants of the driver tries to get around the car that's waiting to make the haft turn. >> police say tt's when the driver of the tahoe lost control. the car crosses the center line and flips several times taking out mailboxes on thek sidewal before coming to a rest against a utility pole. the people inside were ejected. besides the driver, moss, 24-year-old shira harris and

here. as nbc's bill neely reports, moscow is focusing on other aspects of that mueller report. >> reporter: the kremlin criticized and condemned the mueller report but perhaps more surprising is its contention oat there is n proof in it as one official said, not a shred of evidence of any russian interferencen the 2016 u.s. election campaign. we know that simply isn't true. mueller said in his repor the interference was sweeping and systematic. but the kremlin denies there was any interference a says the report is a waste of money. it will worsen russian/u.s. relations. but don't think for a moment that the kremlin is simply smissing this report. it is pouring over every page of it because this report shows how president trump and the trump white house operate. the kremlin will be looking at why, for example, trump gave orders junior officials simply ignored thoserders and it's

second line of strong storms moving into the area. a severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 6:00 en p.m., doah, rocking ham and pendleton counties until45 5:. there you can see this very heavy line of rain advancing toward the northeast very quickly at about 45, even 50 miles an hour. all of this heavy rain is pushing toward the d.c. met troir t -- metroowrea. right ne're at 73 humid degrees out there and that's going to help to fuel heavy rain as this line advances toward the area. it's stormy out there at 7:00 p.m. with some heavy rain moving through the d.c. metro area right aund:00. still the potential for some strong winds mainly east of i-95. at 11:00 p.m. we'reth in upper 60s. somara and i are breaking down sw it impacted your weekend.

let's get to ary developing at this hour. we're digging into this. we just learned the minivan that was involved in a crash that killed the psyc killed a psyccyclist was stolen >> moments aer the video thewas shot he sla into a psycclist. chris gordon talked to witnesses about what they saw. >> reporter: witnesses tell me it began when a minivan sped through this intersen at florida avenue and 12th in northeast washington. a surveillance camera at that car quest auto parts picked itu police are reviewing this video. we're showing you the van drive past more than once. this is just secon before the fatal crash. >> somebody was coming down this way speeding. i don't reallynow whose fault it was. a just heard a crash and ran out

the door and i saw the truck weaving all over the place and hit the tree and stopped. >> the van hit ts car and then apparently swerved killing the bicyclist. >> know he was speeding and crashed into the blue car and then lost control and hit the gentleman on the bicycle. >> witnesses say the driver of the van was hurt. police put him in handcuffs before taking him for medical treatment. when the van was towed, we saw a tirem fro the bicycle embedded in its grill. cyclists who live in this northeast neighborhood say florida avenue is dangerous. >> bicyclists are vnerable in the city with so many careless drivers and without the infrastructure that we need in the form of protective bike lanes. >> the washington area bicyclist association says vdot began studying safety improvements for

florida avenue after a 2013 pedestrian fatality but has slow walked life saving measures despite repeated calls. chris gordon, news 4. once again,e know now the van was stolen and the driver has been charged with second degree murder. he is now in custody. police say that they tried to stop that van near benning road earl br in the morniore the crash. the driver sped away. should uber and lyft drivers get a minimum wage? that's one recommendation from researchers at georgetown university who have been studying local uber driversasor the couple of years. news 4 mark segraves spoke to the drivers and researchers who said they need to take a look at how ride share companies pay their drivers. >> when you use a ride share like uber or lyft, you probably think about how much it's going to cost skyou and about your safety.a new study says we should be thinking about the safety and
