the weather center. >> it was a very active night. not one, two, three, but four tornadoes that we were going on air for.>> and we were with you on air, online, on the app. and one of those tornado warnings was in the reston area, parts of fairfax county, we were here talking about it.we aw good likelihood that there was probably a tornado. and the national weather service confirminghat there was in fact a tornado and this is where we find darcy spencer live. what are you seeing right now? >> well, we're here on center harbor road. and i can tell you, residents would not be surprised to learn that a tornado may have come ar. they described it as absolutely frightening. this is some of the damage left behind. crews got here very quickly and cut up this large tree that fell across the roadway. if you take a look up a little bit here, you can see, there is the pickup truck there that the tree fell on. you're going to hear from the

owner of that pickup truck here in just a moment. rst we want to show you what it looked like when this first happen before everything got cleaned up. the owner of the truck fortunately was not in it at the time. house. inside his and emhe's just happy that the tree fell toward the roadway.if it had fallen the other way, it might have hit his home. we talked to numeroussi rents. many were watching our air. watching the news to hear about the tornado warnings. many of them taking shelter inside their mes. let's hear now from the owner. >> in the living room, watching tv. got the tornadoarning and we had just run down to the basement when we heard the tree orash. we sat there f a bit and decided to run outside. opened the window, take a look and we saw the tree fall. we came out. the wind had stopped. just saw it sitting on my truck. enormously i hear this crack snap. and that was the tree right

watchful you can turn on alerts for weather orivheck l radar. let's turn to another big story tonight. the relentless gun violence in our city has claimed another victim. >> a 16-year-old was shoto death inside his home in northwest d.c. this afternoon. jackie bensen spoke to people in the community and joins us from princeton place. this h shaken the community. the young victim had a lot of friends. >> reporter: the gunshots were loud enough to be heard in the 700 block of princeton place northwest. loud enough to be heard by someone on the street. pat person flagged down a passing d.c.olice officer who was patrolling the nibd a mountain bike. first responders found the shooting victim who was taken to a local hospital but unfortunately, did not survive his injuries.

>> the victim shot multiple times was just 16 years old. police say the house where he was shot is his home. the shooting investigation took place wle d.c. police were conducting an unspecified enforcementnctivity in a alley around the corner. but officials say that activity dwas unconnec to the shting. the investigation continues. police have not given any information on the descripti of the suspect or suspects. new details involving a crash of a bicyclist. working m was a person on bike safety. this shows a mini van speeding -ywn the road. the 54r-old was killed. police say robert little jr. was that the wheel of speeding van. they say he lost control, went through a red light, hit another

ts is newly release body camera video. audiences rescued three people from a burning car accident. this was in new jersey. the officers rushed ine to save thictims with one officer's uniform even catching fire brfly during the rescue. two of the victims were badly burned. authorities say without the rescue, things could have been a lot worse here. you might not think a stolen bike would rise to the top of a police report. >> they realized just how important two wheels were to one fredericksburg man. northern virginia bureau reporter david culver with us. >> mark cunnin doing a lot of walking lately. his commute to and from work, up to two hours eachnd way requires walking the shoulder of

picture shows the system in its entirety. it was a nasty one. we saw that line of severe weather. hat will e some rain be making its way into the area you this theweekend. but no severe threats. that's the good news. overnight, the temperatures will fall into the low 60 it will be a pretty mild overnight. you may get a lingering s or two. let's time out the rain. pushing forward, we're moving about 4:00 a.m. notice how still lots of clouds. may be a few spotty showers. and then by 9:00 a.m., we start to lose some of the clouds. we should be getting a good amount of sunshine. the winds are really going to begin to pick up and kick up as we head through the overnight hours. we're changing gears. you're t going see the winds whistling through the overnight. wind gusts to these-mile-per-hou 26 miles an hour in leesburg. and then into the afternoon and

completely dry on sunday with the c latestputer run. maybe an isolated shower or two. i do have to keep the shower around a high temperature on your sunday of 64 degrees. it is chilly, tamp, and cool out there. as we take a looke at th storm-team 4 four-day forecast, we start with a 64 on sunday. monday and tuesday, a mix of clouds and sunshine. low 70s on monday. 78 for a high temperature tuesday. and then there is the chance for some showers on wednesday and friday as well. but again, this weekend. plenty of drive time. with the haste information coming in, it is looking like completely dry weekend for most of us some ofshe good new on top of this night. the caps looking forho some cooke hoping to bounce back in game ve.
