happens, there is very little room to maneuver. >> this road was built in 1933 and people go from washington to mt. vernon through the countryside. >> reporter: virginia state senator scott sorevel represents the area where a taxi cab and a vw bug collided head-on during even.g rush hour a united states park police spokesman told news 4 the driver of the cab was pronounced dead at the scene. two other people were fln by helicopter to local hospitals with injuries described adds life-threatening. a fourth person who was less seriously injured was taken by amlance to a nearby hospital. it's not clear how the injured were distributed between the two vehicles. the crash and resulting investigation caused the closure of both the southbound and northbound lanes. traffic was tre-routedough adjacent neighborhoods. speelimits on the section of the parkway south of old town

to parents basically saying that the image was deeply disturbing for students, staff, and the parents in this community. >> reporter: controversy surrounds walt whitman hh school in bethesda, maryland. two students posted a photo of themselves in blackface, with the n-word superimposed over it. the photo was posted on a private social mediaaccount, but was shared, gained traction, and school officia say many students saw it. in a letter to parents, the principal says, quote, racist incidents have a profoundly negative impact on how our students of color a their families perceive the safety, education, and support our school has to offer. again, want to reiterate that acts of racism are unacceptable and will not be toleratedlt at wa whitman. we talked to some students about what happened. >> this incident is like vsay and should not happen in our community. >> reporter: it doesn't make me feel very good.

i go to school there every day. and i like to say we have a supportive community in which everyone >> reporter: this isn't the first racist incident at walt whitman. news 4 reported about racial tensions aft two white students called a black stunt the n-word two years ago. now, the principal says that the two studentd involve in this latest racist incident will receive, quote, significant consequences. now, as for the school, well, the students who we talked to ake thet they plan to african-american students here at the schl feel welcome. as for this incident, it was reported to montgomery county police as a, equote, hat bias incident. live here in bethesda, i'm shomari stone, news 4. >> all right, show mmari, thank you. the princ of another local school sent a letter home with parents asking them to talk to tir kids after students sent racially insensitive messages in a group chat over the weekend.

the conversation involves students from stone bridge high school in loudoun county. a letter from the school principal says in part, ote, the derogatory and racially inappropriate statements made to the female students in this group chat satury are unacceptable. it goes on to say, the loudoun county sheriff's office is now investigating and children involved will be disciplined. a northern virginia job placement company is apologizing for a posting seeking aef prably caucasian employee. synet systems says thete employ wh that job was located in india and that the employee has been fired, but it's still upsetting pe inting people in o like loudoun county's naacp president. >> you must put a stop to that. i'm not saying a stop and an end to the company, but they need retooling. they have been caught in an egregious offense and they're i doing busineloudoun? we need to meet. >> reporter: michelle thomas says she plans to visit cynet's office tomorrow to ask for a meeting. she also wants to know the
